Is SVB winning less tourneys since switching to cf?

Shane is currently the highest fargo ranked player in the world, so he isn't underperforming on a case by case basis for sure He hasn't participated in as many tourneys and may not be dominating quite as well as he has in the past and his slight lack of dominance may or may not be related to equipment, but it's not like he's dropped off substantially or anything...

Shane is NOT the highest ranked player based only using the past few years fargo data. Right Mike Page?

Shane is older and doesnt seem to have that same fire? Plus Filler, Gorst, and other younger pros are coming into their prime.

A good player can play with anything.....they spend time with it and figure it out. Equipment doesn't make you play better or worse at that level once they get a little time with it. BUGS never owned a cue, and picked up anything and banked like GOD. Buddy used a new cue every tourney in his prime. He'd win the tourney, sell the cue, and move on - wash, rinse, repeat.

I hope you all are right about Shane lol, really like the guy!
And remember, the title of the thread is "Is SVB winning less tourneys since SWITCHING to cf?", not "...BECAUSE of switching to cf?"
The answer to that is "yes" when it comes to tourneys up against the top 30 guys.

...
Oi! What kind of double speak are you trying to pull here? Lol.

I’ve gotten more grey in my beard since I moved to Anne Arundel county. Poisonous water? Most likely

It seems to me that Shane was dominating everything with his cuetec R360 shaft, and shot straight as hell. But, in the past few years since switching to the cf Cynergy shaft, he doesn't seem to place as high in events and seems to miss more often. Anyone else noticing this?
I'm pretty sure Cuetec "forced" him to use and endorse the Cynergy shaft (and for the steady contract money I don't blame him), but I wonder how he'd be doing now if he still used the R360? Thoughts?

Currently awaiting a non-biased reply from azb member CFShaft......

Switching to cf will not make one a better player. Anyone. Also won't make one a worse player. Keep believing this nonsense.
You apparently never have shot at a very high level lol. I do. CF (Tried the Revo for almost a year) was a "no-go" for me after using wood for 35+ years.
I am just too used to wood.
But, for you folks who can't beat the ghost, and about 95% of the bar bangers, your statement is probably mostly correct.
Most everyday people, due to lack of being great at something, don't realize how even subtle changes to their equipment can drastically change the outcome of their performance, for the good or bad. And the more you're used to your equipment, the harder it is to adapt to change.
An SVB at 100% will beat the top guys more often than an SVB at 99%. All routine and equipment changes get magnified when you're the best.

FOR MOST AMATUER/NEW PLAYERS, CF IS DEFINITELY THE WAY TO GO.
BUT FOR PLAYERS WHO HAVE USED WOOD FOR DECADES, MAYBE NOT SO MUCH.
Folks, I'm NOT "anti cf"!!!!
I bought my fargo 550-ish 22-year old son a revo and he loves it.
The entire point of this thread is me asking why SVB seems to place less in big "top 30-loaded" tourneys since switching to the Cynergy.
Is it the shaft, is it a loss of interest, or is it the simple fact that a wave of young guns has occurred?
Or, a combo of things?

You said earlier your Fargo was in the 600’s, how great do you think you are? I used wood for decades and switched to CF. I play about the way I used to. If I switched back, I’d adjust for a bit and play about the same still.

I honestly think you’re trolling at this point. If so, I applaud you! You got me good.:D

That’s not how Fargo works though, so who cares?
That's right, who does?
The top pros don't give two craps about their fargos lol.
Fargorate is useful to handicap amateur events.
It really has no other meaning/use.

But the guys statement was accurate. SVB is at the top.

673 now. I said "well over 600 lol" Didn't wanna gloat:cool:

I’m not much higher. The stick doesn’t make much difference for me.
That's nice dear lol. It's not the same for everyone. I sight better with the lighter colored wood shafts than I do with the black shafts, especially on dark green bar felts.

Only because of the weight of his massive old data lol. Fedor Gorst has been playing around 850 for several months now. It's posted on the Fargorate facebook page.

I’d agree that Fedor is playing better now. But again, that’s not what the dude said.
