Is SVB winning less tourneys since switching to cf?

Ironically, by posting this you show your bias.
That's not irony!!!!!

Too many people seem too emotional on this topic. I've never played with a CF shaft but am getting mine Friday because I've been curious. I doubt if it will make be any better or worse but why not try it? We all deserve a new toy from time to time. I have no pre-conceived notions either way, and I don't understand why so many comments here border on hostility. If the OP thinks Shane is playing worse with CF
he may be right or wrong but the reaction has surprised me.

It seems to me that Shane was dominating everything with his cuetec R360 shaft, and shot straight as hell. But, in the past few years since switching to the cf Cynergy shaft, he doesn't seem to place as high in events and seems to miss more often. Anyone else noticing this?
I'm pretty sure Cuetec "forced" him to use and endorse the Cynergy shaft (and for the steady contract money I don't blame him), but I wonder how he'd be doing now if he still used the R360? Thoughts?
I don't think he is being forced to play it. He designed it.

To steal a line from Hunter S. Thompson -

“I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, insanity or carbon fiber shafts to anyone, but they've worked for me.”

I adapted to the Cynergy CF cue quickly and play more consistently with it. For whatever reason it suits me better than the wood cues I have. Personal preference is all, it didn't make me a better shooter, I just like it.

Isn't this a bit of a contradiction? Wouldn't playing more consistent make you a better shooter? Unless of course you are missing consistently.

IMO, consistency is what separates a shortstop from a professional.

To quote Shane, "just play pool". As I said before, I've seen great players switch, and switch, and switch....and still dominate. Someone who "plays pool at a high level" isn't generally THAT wrapped up in their equipment. A great player knows they can get a new cue and adjust in a timely manner. I saw Justin Bergman get a trap cue (this was part of the spot he was giving) that was jacked, with a little warp and crazy high deflection and still won his match and ran out from everywhere.

I saw Tulsa legend Fat Randy play with both a broom and a cue with no tip. Won both times. He just shot stop shots or let it roll forward. Good players will figure out any cue. When Efren won at Red's he used a $20 Filipino stick. Didn't matter.

Has Shane's FR gone down? I don't know for sure, but I don't believe it has and if not, it would seem his level of play hasn't gone down and that it's more about other people are improving and catching up?

Next it will be that he switched to the smaller diameter CF shaft and that's the reason the world is flat... :/

Don't be silly...

That's not why the world is flat :)

i haven’t read much of this thread but i would ask also, has he won less since he switched to the glove?
