I don't think he is being forced to play it. He designed it.It seems to me that Shane was dominating everything with his cuetec R360 shaft, and shot straight as hell. But, in the past few years since switching to the cf Cynergy shaft, he doesn't seem to place as high in events and seems to miss more often. Anyone else noticing this?
I'm pretty sure Cuetec "forced" him to use and endorse the Cynergy shaft (and for the steady contract money I don't blame him), but I wonder how he'd be doing now if he still used the R360? Thoughts?
Isn't this a bit of a contradiction? Wouldn't playing more consistent make you a better shooter? Unless of course you are missing consistently.I adapted to the Cynergy CF cue quickly and play more consistently with it. For whatever reason it suits me better than the wood cues I have. Personal preference is all, it didn't make me a better shooter, I just like it.
I saw Tulsa legend Fat Randy play with both a broom and a cue with no tip. Won both times. He just shot stop shots or let it roll forward. Good players will figure out any cue. When Efren won at Red's he used a $20 Filipino stick. Didn't matter. To quote Shane, "just play pool". As I said before, I've seen great players switch, and switch, and switch....and still dominate. Someone who "plays pool at a high level" isn't generally THAT wrapped up in their equipment. A great player knows they can get a new cue and adjust in a timely manner. I saw Justin Bergman get a trap cue (this was part of the spot he was giving) that was jacked, with a little warp and crazy high deflection and still won his match and ran out from everywhere.
Next it will be that he switched to the smaller diameter CF shaft and that's the reason the world is flat... :/
41.5Is SVB better now that he’s stopped practicing his break 42 hours a day? Major tournament results say no.
