Is there a "smart" cue ball yet?

Does Jamie have a brother? Striking resemblance.
If you thought this thread was unnecessary, I apologize for my curiosity. I tried searching here and online, but didn't find anything. I am just really getting back into the game again and am working on my stroke again. Stroke drills are great as are stun shot drills, but they are only giving me so much initial information. For example, stopping the ball on a straight shot will tell me that I hit center perfectly. On a cut shot though, that's a lot harder. Plus, if I miss was it because of CIT or did I miss on my aim?

How 'bout some 'smart chalk' that shocks the user when he puts on too much?? ;)
Or jack-in-the-boxes off the table when placed chalk side down.

As to the ball, I don't want to play with a ball that is smarter than me. And can't just see it: "I would have won the match except someone hacked the cueball."

I was thinking of passive sensors and for training purposes only ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've already got too many tin-foil-hat conspiracy nutjobs around me. This would be just more ammo for them. "The NSA dumped me". ;)

edit:
Can't believe I wasted time on this troll again. Well, off to the ignore list he goes.

Yeah the big reply and replying to every comment is a dead give away for Justin's m,o,

Just joined not too long ago, so apologies on not knowing who you are referring to. I am actively responding because I have a question as well as interest about the topic. If I am not addressing proper posting etiquette for this community though, please let me know how and why so I can learn and not do it again.

I might have posted about such a thing before, but I think a smart cb is a fine idea
depending on the tech., I'll bet you could potentially get a lot out of it-
verify accuracy, learn how spin and shots work, practice techniques, play different kinds of games, etc.
recently I thought what if you could play a game where you got to play a rack without leaving certain circumferences on the cb
a smart cue could measure that and alert you when you blow it, etc. there's a lot you could do, for sure.

Did either one of you guys ever work for Flobee? ;) Good luck finding investors on this deal. I can just see this on 'Shark Tank', "Its a cueball that talks back to you". Panel: "Thanks for stopping by. Next contestant please". ;)

Guys, just wait a year. A couple of people on this thread are gonna love me, the rest of you are gonna HATE me. 😆

Maybe this is why we can’t have nice things? A topic that’s a little off kilter comes up and everyone assumes it was posted by that annoying guy.

Shoot, why look at anything differently; let’s have another thread about tip hardness. However... when that happens, don’t one of you u filthy sum’ um’ a biotches direct the poster to the search function.

Give me my buddy Pete and his brother RePete and I think a good time could be had by all.

Right.

There was a question on Reddit stocks by a new user who asked why their ticker wasn't updating over the weekend. Fair question, simple answer. Market is closed.

Instead the moderator flagged it as a shitpost and labeled it "beyond stupid".

Harsh. Why even have a forum in the first place. What is this, the back of the school bus? Some of you need to go outside and get some exercise or something, lol.

C'mon man. Even if, and its a BIG 'IF', you could embed the necessary sensor/elec. package in a cue-ball you'd still have to get it balanced to roll like a real ball. THEN, you'd have to market the thing. How many do you think would actually get sold?? I'm sure there's a fair number of techno-geek pool players out there but do you really think this thing would be a break-even proposition much less make $$?? IMO this is nothing but an orphaned solution looking for a problem to move in with.

Would be better off using some tiny amount and various types of radioactive isotopes for the dots on a measles ball. Scanner overhead monitoring it's motion 24/7. Should give all the data the 'techno-geeks' could handle. Plus the added benefit of helping along natural selection...lol
