Is there magic in the cue? A cue that played amazing Could be anything

I do believe there is a ideal cue setup for each individual. It’s physically impossible that there isn’t, it just may not be built yet. The likelihood of finding it, .000000000000000000000001%. Finding a cue close enough to be acceptable is possible and by trying every cue you can get your hands on you can refine what you prefer and make a educated search. My playing cue is a Runde. I originally played with the original shafts. I got sick of hearing how awesome Searing cues were considering I doubt anyone in my state owns one, let alone I’ll ever see it, I bought a Searing shaft to figure out the hype. Now I have my unicorn, shaft is awesome. In conjunction with another thread I posted, I don’t think I could sell this cue. What is the monetary value, replacement insurance value $2500-3000 maybe. Damn near impossible to get a Searing shaft and Bob is 82 and only building few cues here and there.

Here's what happens. New cue gets all the right enthusiasm going, you lovingly stroke everything in your sweet spot - ooh terrific hit. This is the Indian at work. Later on you're in a different space, normal life, you go play pool anyway because you're an addict. Pool doesn't work as well, this is still the Indian, you blame the cue.
This is scientific fact. Don't argue.

Ouch, I think it's largely phycological, but again I could be wrong? I brought a stunning little two seater MG roadster a while ago, and thought it was the best car I ever owned. However, mechanically it was a Friday car, and cost a fortune to repair, the shine soon wore off.
I've had a few snooker cues over the years, but none I thought was the Holy Grail.
But, I have had a few fly fishing rods that I thought were special over time? As an industry the Billiard market has to grow, and come out with new ideas's I suspect, but its odd how many of the older cues feel just right for a time?

Stephen Hendry won alot of his tournaments with a $30-40 magic cue lol.

I played with Joey Spaeth’s Szamboti for a few years….I could draw 3/4 of a table farther with that cue that any other I owned.
……and I’ve had at least 25 of the top cues.

Had one snooker cue made by Harvey Rothwell….same thing.
I believe I have an old Rothwell that I acquired years ago. The shaft is too thin for my liking and is whippy. I think a pro taper shaft with a 10mm tip would make it playable.

Is there magic in certain cues?

I remember that. cool story. i still believe that no cue contains 'magic'. its a in-animate object that does nothing until the player puts it in action. some cues feel right and fit a player better than others but they still don't do anything on their own. my first good cue was a meucci rifleman i bought from Buddy himself. Great cue. Magical? Uhhh, no.

Maybe the right way to put it is: there's magic in certain cues when in the hands of a certain player.

I've seen some pretty strange things over the years and a couple come to mind. One guy used to gamble using a broom handle and another that had a one pc house cue with no ferrule or tip and would chalk the wood.
