Is this an old JOSS??

It does look like an old JOSS. I had one w/the same ring work that came in without the JOSS ever engraved on the buttplate (I think 1971/72). What color is the rubber bumper? Their cues had the nice red rubber bumpers in those days. If yours has a redish/brownish color, I would say it's an old Joss. if not, it still could be but with a replacement bumper.

I guess I got lucky...

I was fortunate to have just received that old Joss w/ivory ferrules and ivory joint from the owner last night. I forgot how great a cue with ivory plays! Nice hit and a great playing cue! Here are more picts of the Joss

I would like to have Bill or Dan issue a letter of authenticity. I have sent them emails already to send it out to have it refinished.

Question: Do you think it will lower the price of the cue if I have it refinished?

I have one exactly like it from Danny janes I bought it from the original owner wich still has the recipt from 1970 but was told to cue was from 1969 it sat at the dealers for a year or so. I have 2 original shafts and 1 newer normal length 29" also.
