I disagree, it's completely relevant.Jude Rosenstock said:What I'm saying is, you're talking about a gambling rule. If you're the sucker, you can quit. If you're the corporation, you risk getting your a** kicked and/or losing action. Whether it's "allowed" is pretty much irrelevant.

One thing ppl got to realize, they were playing for 22k for first, what 11k for 2nd?? that's a good chunk of change, these 2 are young, if you are in their shoes, what would you do????

And as for not gaining a big time sponsor due to certain conduct by pool players. Well it is a fact of life. One of the largest money making sports in America, NASCAR, is the epitomy of this conduct. How many times have you seen drivers wreck each other or block for a team mate? MANY
All I can say to Dennis is better luck next time. This event came down between a world beater and 2 relatively unknown KIDS that played their heart out. And I think that anyone of the 3 deserved to win.

totally agree on all points here. Nascar is a good example. You have teammates that race WITH YOU. if you are in the lead, they work to protect you. about the 2 kids being unknown for the most part, I think alot of ppl know who Shane is/was. Based on his performances in the JR nationals. but that has been a few years back, so some might have forgotten! 4 time champion. Winner of the Memphis classic a time (or 2?) all 3 in the final were definetly class acts and definetly good for this sport.

IMO, the negative perception of the pool world is perpetuated by the "if you don't like it quit" and "get the dough at all costs" positions you apparently support. That's one reason pool will never be mainstream. Until we can clean up our act and stop "getting the dough at all costs," pool is just full of two-bit gamblers.
