Is this GC2 worth it?

I have an opportunity to purchase a Gold Crown 2 in very good condition for what I think is a good price. He's asking $1000. It's an oversize 8 footer. I wanted a 9 ft. but if this is a very good deal I may take it. Is there any known drawbacks as far as quality between the 2 sizes? Said he would include a nice Tiffany light also. It has Simonis 860 in real good condition on it. Can I re-stretch it and use it? Any input appreciated.
Thanks!

That is about what I paid for my GCIII but it was a 9 foot table.

I put new cloth on it and it plays very well.

IMO, if you can reuse the cloth and the rails do not need replaced, I think it is in the right ball park.

If you have room I'd wait on a 9' table. If the table needs new cushions it will need to be recalibrated for the new rubber, so remember that when considering the price. I would look for a GC4, it has the new spec rubber and they play great.

Personally if I were to get a GC1-3, I would only pay around 500 and figure on new cushions and rail extensions to the size pockets I preferred. Then you'd be all set for another 50 years. Consider it a life time investment and don't settle for an 8' table. It's always better do it right the first time
