I'm not in a position to quote the exact rule right now, but no.
No. The rule is something like "equip must be used the way it's intended". I do recall for bridges specifically there is also a rule only two can be used to stack on top of each other.
It depends. If playing under WPA rules, no.

Ronnie did the same in a long run when playing the three ball when he was badly treed by the five ball.
As for the OP technique, I like it for its innovation and have used it, but was talked out of making it legal.
The Williams/O'Sullivan technique is legal, but not so useful at pool.
