is this normal wear or abuse ?

this cue is about 3 years old and i have replaced the butt cap that all by its self got a big crack in it. the owner of the cue said he just did a normal break and the shaft came apart in his hands ? what you would tell a customer that told you a story like that?

I would tell him, now he owns a three piece cue!!!

I would advise your Customer that you sent the Cue to France, and had a Famous Detective look at the Cue. After the Detectives inspection, he determined the Cue was used in a improper manner. So the story he told you is doo doo.

after showing him a few of the responses to this thread he admits he might have been a BIT rough with the shaft, i am making him a new one, he's paying full price

Who would have imagined that? I mean....we all know how unstable and volatile maple is.......

Any chance the owner was Darryl Dawkins? He might have been able to make a credible argument.

Glad it worked out. Perhaps the new shaft should contain some instructions.
