is this possible

The entire handle section of the cue would have to be replaced. It may also depend on the construction method of the cue in question. You would get much better info though if the question was posted in the "ask the cuemaker" section here.

Not really. The cost of removing the handle and replacing it would be quite a bit, that is if you could find someone to do it. So the answer is YES but very unlikely that you would find a cuemaker to do it. That is a lot of work and hard to make any profit doing a job like that.

I guess I just don't understand the whole wrap to no-wrap mechanics. You can add a wrap to a cue, correct? does that also require the cue to be rebuilt or are you literally just wrapping material whatever handle that already exists? i guess you'd have to shave down the existing handle so the wrap material lies flush with the forearm and sleeve though? i suppose that's the same issue with removing a wrap - you'd have to add material to take the place of the wrap so it's a seamless transition from forearm to handle to sleeve... is that right?

The problem is that if a cue has a wrap then that section is thinner than the rest of the cue. You can't really just add material to build it up... thats why the previous poster said the only thing you might be able to do is replace the entire handle piece.

That might cost a lot though.

I would try other wraps first, like leather, cork until I found something I liked and if that dosen't do for you.....on the other hand Richard Black replaced a handle (one of his old 80's cues) that was warped and it was perfect when I received it back, so maybe someone out there can do it...good luck

can a cue with a wrap be made into a wrapless cue? any help would be great. thank you

It can, but turning the cue down to the level of the wrap groove will leave the handle thin.

If you want the feel of wrapless, you can try a stack leather wrap instead.

Another way to convert a linen-wrapped cue to the feel of a wrapless cue is to refinish the butt and apply finish over the linen wrap -- like Meucci does on many of its cues.

This works well.
