Is this shot even possible..?

its possible to hit the side pocket tit and do that, but its a fluke shot more than anything (assuming the object ball is farther up the rail). as far as a stroke shot...maybe if the pockets were complet buckets and you used a ton of low left to throw the object ball in...but still...probably not.

Maybe I'm missing something, but making the nine in the indicated upper corner pocket requires cutting it fairly sharply. No way that I can imagine that the cue can avoid rebounding off the rail to the opposite rail. Now, with a better angle, banking the nine ball by hitting it pretty full and drawing the cue along the rail into the indicated pocket is very doable.

I'm with Jimmy. If you make the 9, the cue ball hits the rail and it then becomes a bb shot in shoe box, hence - its quite possibly impossible that this shot is possible or even probable- unless your trying to make the 9 on a double kiss - even then its highly unlikely you won't scratch. BTW, only an idiot would try this nonsense in a matchup situation anyway, so who really cares? Just make the shot the most sensible way. That will shut up your sparring partner. lol

LOL, It just happened to me tonight on the 8 ball. I hit the ball with bottom right English and just slammed on it. And instead of a cut I hit it dead on and the 8-ball just got "squeezed" more like a seed of an olive between your fingers.

Isaac Newton is rolling over in his grave. To continue to debate whether the shot is possible is not only idiocy but pointless. If your friend wants to try this shot 1000 times, Ill give him 1000 to 1 on the money but he has to bet 100.
