I've had 5 314's - only one warped over time and that was slight. My OB shafts are dead straight and so are a couple of the Tiger shafts I have.

But then again, many of the conventional shafts made these days stay straight too. The lumber industry and cue makers are using improved techniques in stacking, drying, storing and turning wood.

The laminated segments, in LD shafts are by definition devoid of a predominant grain - as does a non-segmented one that can, over time, warp.
 
Every LD shaft I have ever had is still straight. I've had a case that had a spare LD shaft and a spare rock maple shaft in it. Left it in the car on accident on a 100+ degree day on accident when the humidity was rockin. The LD shaft is still straight.... the maple shaft, not so much. Looks like a boomerang now. So, I think that LD shafts are much more resistant to warpage.
 
I have a pre-cat 314, and a 314-2. Mike Sigel cleaned them up for me in Frederick and shaped the tips and was amazed at how dead perfect they spun on his lathe. Great shafts!!!..and I have ABUSED them, LOL.
 
Very slight wobble but I would not trade it for the WORLD.

Very slight wobble in my OB2 but it is very playable. It is wood so I accept the fact that wood will never be perfect.
