jv miami was like a father to me and your uncle George. I would like to get in touch with Miami. Do you have a phone # or an address.

Miami hustled me in Danny Jones' room in Columbus in the 60's. Some how, some way, I already knew who he was. I guess from Johnston City, I saw EVERYONE there! He was wearing his little hat and said, "You and me can play some 9-Ball kid. I know you're a good player." I took a pass.

Click on my name over on the left side of the post and choose Send Private Message. Include your email address and phone number if you wish, and I will pass that on to someone who I know has it, over at onepocket.org.

That's about the best I can do.

Well my uncle worked the room up until he got his CDL and became a truck driver. My uncle started working there at 14-15, when the room was across from pep-boys. My uncle was laid up in the hotel around the corner, that became across the street when the room was moved. I was in both places a bit.

I played him some 1 pocket at the hall of Fame in Detroit 5-6- years ago. A nice little guy and could still make some balls, but was getting up there in years. playing for $30 a game I came out 2 games up and asked him to keep it and just square the time. He insisted on paying up and then paid his own time. I felt I had met a special guy then!
I was living in San Antonio at the time and he knew Banana Rodriguez and was fond of the guy. We had buried Bananas a couple of years earlier and it really saddened him!

In a recent trip to Puerto Rico, I met Miami. I played with him and he wanted to play with one hand. He is up there in age.., but when he holds the cue with one hand, he is very steady.., if you know what I mean.
Anyone knows about him?

I really need to get in touch with him he's like a Father to me. Please Help

I've known miami for abt 20 years. He helped me learn how to play one pocket. ( At a big expense of course) at one point he was regarded as probably the top 1handed player in the world. I seen him several times run 6 out playing golf on a 12ft gold crown. His famous lines were always "I no play I no play" and "what's 20.00 so say you beat a champion" lol. This post makes me remember all the old quirks he had. He moved from the detroit are abt 4 years or so ago. He once won a pool room in new jersey playing 9ball..

I was in Lodi NJ a month ago and they asked me if I knew him. They told me he was in Puerto Rico. I thought he was dead:)
