Keep up the good work on barbox events. I'm only one person, but they are the only streams I'll pay to watch.
Why? If you are not talking only about 8-Ball, what do you like better about watching 9-Ball or 10-Ball on 7-footers than on 9-footers?

Anytime I hear an authority speak of less 9 foot tournaments , I think that I'd rather have pool die altogether than watch it go to 7 footers. These guys run out like water on a 7 foot. Long race, alternating break doesn't change the fact that it's child's play and becomes a coin toss. Take the skill out of the game and what do you have left? Pro miniature table pool is the dead nail of the professional game.I have been half following the situation in Florida. Its a real shame.
I think Vivian was trying to do the right thing. But I will agree that the event 'seemed' to be a little rough around the edges last year.
No way to follow the matches and difficult to see scores and payouts etc.
This is the 2016. There are a lot of ways to handle the information and to have a good staff. But for 'the love of the game' - use qualified people/companies to run the show.
Remember the problem at the Galveston, Texas event a few years ago?
Players need to be respected - they also need to be respectful. But what is happening is that too few players will compete on 9' tables. The truth is that the 9' game is becoming less and less feasible.
Embrace FargoRate - it will establish who can and should play in events. It will (as the information gets more seasoned) give a better product and hopefully help establish some credibility into the game.
Just remember, that every mis-step makes it that much harder on the legitimate promoter.

Mark, come on. The DCC is two floors of 9' table goodness with a 10' or two thrown in for good measure, and the players love it.

Months ago Shane Winters posted his concerns about the streams making money off the backs of the players and giving little-to-nothing back to the sport.... He too was relentlessly attacked until he was silenced.
It's almost hilarious how, when Shane started bringing up this subject people like you said he was not a pro so he had no say in it. THEN - when he won an amateur event the same people screamed that he WAS a pro and didn't qualify to enter.
Which one is it? [/QUOTE
Being a pro or not is not the point. streams bring exposure to tournaments. Streamers are not raking in the $.
There's never been a sports model where players get paid for exposure.
Do football players make money off Monday Night football? NO!!!
The saddest thing is the fact that I would have been shocked if there wasn't a thread created like this. Pretty much the status quo.

My point was - all you people I never heard of hang around the net like little vultures just dying to attack someone who has the guts to stand up for the sport and the players who are getting shit-on everywhere they turn.
If you gave a damn about this sport you would give a damn about what the pros are saying and THEIR ideas on getting more money in the sport. In-other words - it's not about you getting to watch them for free on Youtube and you might want to lay off that keyboard for a minute and learn something, and it's not about some talentless shoulder-hopping dweeb with a camera making money off their talent while giving the ones with the talent NOTHING.
Pool is the only sport on Earth you could get away with this crap!
For the most part added money is the only way to attract players to attend an event. Those ducks have to be in order to get the fields required to make an event successful. But, the breakdown must be clearly stated in advance. When attendance is poor you just have to bite the bullet and live with the results. Non playing spectators are a thing of the past. They just don't show up much anymore. And, they used to make events successful. Maybe it's the economy, maybe it's the lack of interest in pool or maybe it's how the event is scheduled. Case in point. The old Reno Open had several events running at the same time. They had the "Pro Event" but they also had a smaller event where "Non Pros" could enter which attracted many players who would then come play and watch. That type of event brought out players who could see themselves making a commitment to take time off and attend because THEY COULD ALSO PLAY. Maybe we need to look backwords once in a while to move forward........

It's absolutely amazing how ignorant the pool world is when it comes to the digital market.
How much more are these players making since they've had all this exposure on the internet???
I love this "Oh you guys are getting exposure! you should be grateful," said every digital thief in this industry.
Go to a golf-course and stream Tiger Woods - See what happens to your ass.

Once again, athletes in real sports aren't getting paid by the networks.
Try to keep up.

Yeah, NBC will have a problem if you stream any golfer. But I guarantee you they aren't giving a dime to any golfer you see.
