issues with new olhausen tables

I bought one 3 months ago. The corner pockets are defective. They are well aware of this. I have spoke with them once. They have yet to offer a fix. Looks like I may have to take them to court!
You'll just waste your money. No way that you would win a lawsuit, on the grounds that you can't pocket balls as well as you feel that you should.

The pocket angles of an Olhausen cause balls to hang. That's just the way that they are, and the way that they've always been. This is nothing new. There is no easy 'fix', and the company has zero obligation to do so. Your table is not defective. It's simply the Olhausen pocket geometry.

If you are not satisfied with it, you can only blame yourself for not doing the proper research on the brand, prior to buying.

Having said that, you have a couple of options:
  1. Sell the table, and get something with pocket geometry that is more suitable to you
  2. Have the pocket geometry of your table adjusted
I'm sorry that you feel that you've had a bad experience. Olhausen is a fantastic company. The owner is a complete gentleman, and he seems determined to ensure that all Olhausen customers are well cared for. However, you must be reasonable in your expectations, and accept that all pool tables have different features and all will play differently.

Yes. I got one about a year ago and sent it back after they couldn't level on the second visit to my house. They didn't set the slate pieces level. The table was crowned and then they tried fixing it by shimming all around under the feet as if that would fix a crowned table. It also had pocket rattle due to their unusual pocket cuts and probably because the cloth was pulled too tightly and misshaped them. They also forgot to tighten all of the bolts on the rails.

I wanted a commercial table any way so it worked out after a lot of negotiating with the dealer (after Olhausen HQ told me that it's not their problem at three different phone calls where I told them that my table wasn't playing right). The dealer assured me that this piece, despite being a furniture piece (I forget the model name- all of the details were in my original post when I first got the table; I was asking people here if Olhausens played the same as a standard pool hall pool table like Gold Crown. Too bad that Administration here took down the thead just the other day after the flames and verbal abusers went too far). Even if it had it been installed properly by a mechanic, it was still not commercial quality. And it was more expensive than getting a restored GC beauty in my pics. Anybody can get one from a mechanic instead of an Olhausen.

Bottom line: If you want a commercial table feel then get a commercial table. It's much cheaper to buy a restored commercial table from a mechanic than it is to buy a new furniture piece, and a lot cheaper than buying a new commercial table from any manufacturer.

If you read all of the forum, you will be hard-pressed to find a table mechanic who disagrees with commercial vs furniture and an Old GC or Diamond vs Olhausen.

Hopefully the flames and trolls will stay away from this and let us share true information so people can be as informed as possible and make the best purchase decision possible for their wants They play nothing like a

Absolutely a furniture table. People that make the mistake of purchasing one as opposed to a Diamond, Brunswick or Rasson, are new to the game or ran into a good salesperson. I believe they bad playing tables make the road to improving your game a lot longer. Buy a table that plays the way the tables you will be competing on in the future. Hope thus helps 1 future buyer!

they do rattle balls if not hit solid in the pocket. and other than that play very well.
i like that with the leather pockets they are quiet.
basically the pockets play a lot tighter than their size.
but they are a great furniture looking table. if you want a commercial table get one of those.

just like if you want to haul lumber get a pickup truck not an suv.
