it just not a JOSS

so I got my first custom cue a few months ago and it was and still is georgeous.

but no matter what i do i keep reverting back to my joss. i gave the cue maker every last aspect of the my joss in attempt to replicate it but to no avail. i can never decide if i like the 314 and the standard shaft is far to whippy.
no offense to tony or darwin as they worked the ass off to make me happy and i am thrilled. but the hit is not for me. time to put this in a closet for a while.

time to start saving for a new custom

who hits like joss????
should i ask joss to make me a cue???

the search will be fun

If you keep going back to your Joss, I would order a Custom Joss from Danny. I have had three local Customers who ordered Customs from Danny and they all were very Pleased.

Two the cues had Scrimshawed Ivory Joints, and for all the work involved the ones I have seen are well worth the money.

Also, Joss will build Customs with V-Spliced points if requested in place of the standard CNC points that they use on their cues. One of my customers had a cue built this way and the work was excellent, the points were even inner and outer, the veneer's were tight, and the points were sharp like a razor.

If I were you I would contact them directly and have them start building a cue for you.

joss

This will be a little redundant but since you already have the hit you want in the joss and the design you want in the custom go from there and save money. 95% of a cues hit is in the joint shaft ferule and tip. So just have the joint on your custom changed to match your joss and screw on your joss shaft and you have everything you were looking for.

That's the reason when I was thinking about having a cue made I was going to go with the 5/16-14 joint even though most customs aren't, so if I hated the shafts that come with the cue I could switch to my old shafts.

So myself I would look at having the joint changed on your custom and use your joss shaft. That is if you really love everything else about the custom you have now. If not go have another made but make sure the joint interchanges with your joss.
