It Was Great Seeing Everyone in Atlanta

I just wanted to say that it was great seeing all of the AZ members who went to Atlanta this weekend.
First, Mike Janis ran a great tournament. It had to be tough keeping things in line all week, with 3 major events in the same week. But everything ran smoothly, and there was nothing but nice things said about the way the tournament ran.

Second, THe Pool Room 2 is a first class room. It is a upscale room, but with Dianne Gabbard (former WPBA player), Wade Crane as house pro, Mark Gregory, Brian Butler, and Stevie Moore, Monica Webb, and Helena Thornfeldt as regulars, it's very player friendly. The food was good, and the wait staff was great (the girls were cute as hell).

It was nice to meet Lamar25. He's alot of fun, and will throw money into a calcutta like nobody's business. I saw Fluidstroke, but he was playing a match, and I didn't want to disturb him. ScottR must have gone for the weekend by the time I got there. He must have thought I would hit him up to buy me a drink when I got there. I chatted with Cuechick, and she was pleasant as always. She was hitting the balls pretty well in the tournament also. I got to speak to Cueman (Chris H) for the first time in a long while. I bought a cue lathe from him about 10 years ago, and I wanted to let him know that it still works just fine.

Sarah Rousey was there, hitting the balls great, and she was as nice as ever. She's by far my favorite WPBA player. She stayed in action, as well, complaining once that she won $100 playing 1-pocket, but that the time was $150. Hope she didn't agree that the winner had to pay the time.

I talked to Mike Janis between his efforts running the tournament. He put on a great show, although he cost me $50 by picking Shannon to win the overall. I had Larry Nevel who finished 2nd. Alot of work went into this event, and Mike deserves a huge chunk of the credit.

Shawn Putnam, Danny Harriman, Lil Jon, Smackmac, Merkyone, and other AZ members were there, and playing great.

I talked with Marissa again, and she was looking hot as usual. She was very pleasant and it was great to talk with her between the times that all the guys were vying for her attention.

I hope I haven't left anyone out. The tournament and action were both awesome. I'm sure this will turn into a premier event on the pool circuit in a very short time.

Hey Mike,
"THANKS".

It was my pleasure meeting you.

I, would also like to thank you for introducing me to Sarah Rousey. She is a very nice lady.

Tracie Hines, (friend & my favorite WPBA player) just went undefeated in the 1st revised "SEAL Tour Event" at the Pool Room II in Duluth, (10/29-30/05). Helena Thornfeldt, Val Finnie, and another favorite of mine, Janet Atwell were also there. I also pull for Helena & Monica if they are not playing Tracie or Janet.

Tracie's last 3 matches (For the win):
T.H. 7, Alice Rim 4
T.H. 7, Monica Webb 5
And in the final match, T.H. 9, Kelly Fischer 3.

By the way Mike, could you P.M. me and advise real names of: "Merkyone", "Smackmac" & "ScottR"....know all the others.

My #2 by the way Mike, "Hightower Custom Cues", (Chris & "Z"), built my very first custom cue. Believe "cueman" has added the links to view my cue.

"Have a nice day",
Lamar

It was good to visit you also Mike. I totally agree that is was a well run tournament and I enjoyed it a lot. I rarely cash in that speed of tournament but keep donating my entries and get to beat a good palyer once in a while also. Hope to see you at some of the upcoming events in Athens if I am in town at the time and you make it.

Thanks Mike. The Pool Room is by far one of the nicest pool rooms I have visited. Everyone was extremely nice and the tournament was a huge success. I wasn't necessarily complaining...just making an observation. I should play earlier in the day before the table time is the after hours rate....either that or win faster. Tough to do when you play absolutely horrible one pocket. It was good to see you again and it was good to meet lamar and everyone else I got a chance t meet.

Take care,
Sarah

Unfortunately, Mike, I never made it to ANY of the tournament action. You know how stuff goes sometimes. Sounds like I missed a real good one. :(

Edit: Lamar - I am a pool nobody in the Atlanta area. But, I enjoy watching good pool being played and am trying to get back into the scene. I hope to meet you in the near future.

Hey ScottR,
My intent was that; if, I new your real name, I might be able to put "a face with the screen name", if you know what I mean. Hope to meet you as well.

Hey Mike T.,
Just a note to you, re: Auctions.

thanks lamar. couldnt have said it better. im not sure about the laws in ga but i know for a fact that the term "calcutta" is illegal in tn and almost had one pool room owner thrown in jail. we are trying to phase over to the new words. which is going very well

USE "Player Auction", DO NOT USE "Calcutta"

Hey Matt, thanks for your help & advice.
I would like to request of everyone in this forum: "Please stop using the term "calcutta" and use "player auction".
After all, none of us want the guys in blue comming around.
"Hope all of you are supportive"

The new secret codes are now "player Auction" or "Audience Participation".

Player Auction = An individuals secondary tournament entry fee based upon a players ability as determined by peers.

Hey ScottR,
I just realized we have already met. Please respond to the following question:

Have you been too & played at "Kennesaw Billiards", in Kennesaw, Ga.?

If your answer is yes: We have met. (our friend, & your co-worker is D.B.)
If your answer is no: I will have to try again.
