Can any of you cue smart guys give your opinion of It's George cues. How would they compare to other top of the line cues as far as looks and how it hits. I have a nice Keith Josey and was thinking of working out a trade for the It's George. They are both of equal value. Take care and God bless our troops.

I have an It's George I bought brand new from the company around 92. Keith Josey cues hit extremely stiff because of his shaft taper. Almost all It's George Cues have nickel collars on them and they play a little different than Keith's phenolic joints. PM me and I'll send you a pic of my It's George cue and some of the specifics...such as the balance point.

Very underrated cues. Each one I have ever played with hit very solid and
they all basically played the same. I have never played with any other cues
that all play the same. I bid on them on ebay everytime I see one hoping to steal one cheap.
All the ones I have seen are plain cues. I heard that there were some made that were a little fancy but I have not seen any.
I played with a Meucci for about 15 years.
I have since switched to an It's George for no reason other than the fact some guy at the poolroom was selling it for relatively cheap ($500) and it is a gorgeous "classic looking" cue. 4 multi-points, a little bit of ring work, nice ebony...I can't wait to have it refinished!
I have the original shaft and 2 Predators for it. The original shaft deflects a little too much for me and I have been using the Predators.
It does not have a soft hit, but does hit the ball good. I like it a lot and would never sell it.

The 4 pointer It's George cues without inlays are going for about $500, and fancier ones with some inlays $600. Rarely will you see a Josey for those prices.

And there have been quite a few of them over the years. Mine has four long, razor sharp points, four veneers, MOP inlays, white delrin butt cap, irish linen wrap with a bushka ring above the wrap. It also has the platic joint which came out in the mid 90's. In fact, it looks like a copy of 70's era Balabushka cues with the exception of the longer style points. It is balanced like no other cue I have ever used. In fact, you hardly notice it in your hands when playing. I didn't even know that was possible. I recently saw one like mine sell on Ebay for about $700.00. If that cue was in the same condition as mine, that was a very good price for that cue. I didn't bid on it because I am leary about buying cues off of Ebay. Plus, since I actually play with my cues, I need to feel their hit and response before I buy them. I'm just sorry I didn't buy a bunch of them when they were still making cues.
