i really made a friend with him some 20 years ago
he gave me a barn full of new paint
i probably still owe him a favor,but i never see him
if you guys see him ,mark him down as a good guy

Poor Mike lost the guys case ,but sent him a better one ,now he is making him a new one
the purpose of this thread was to show what a good guy Mike is

All that was asked were ideas on how to get his case back. The case - that never should have been lost.
"Sent him a better one", the case he lost had sentimental value that could not be replaced by a "better one".
I'm sure Mr. Roberts is a fine gentleman. He made a mistake and Adam lost an item that had more than material value to it.
Before we comment on a situation, especially if we are going to make a really big deal about it and start new threads about it and such, we should at least make sure we actually know and understand what is going on with the situation first. Mike did not just "send him a better case" as if he was doing the guy some favor or trying to help him out as you make it sound like. Mike sent him the wrong case by mistake. Plus, the case Mike sent was actually in very bad shape whereas the guy's original case had been in very good shape and was only missing a single rivet, so Mike in fact sent a much worse case, not a better one. No situation can ever be properly assessed without knowing the correct facts.
Actually, the case he sent me (by accident) was nowhere near the as nice as mine.

It was not a replacement, but it was supposed to be MY case...not a replacement..
When I called Mike and told him he sent me the wrong case, he had no idea.
Stop acting like this was some heroic act. He made a mistake.
Since you seem to be lacking in the details of this transaction, please stay out of it unless you want to help.
