its just plain pathetic !

i was at league ltc's sat and some one stole a bag of chalk out of my case.

end of rant .:D

That's what you get for using Magic Chalk, it disappears.

Sorry, had to make that joke :grin-square:

I usually feel pretty safe about most rooms, but I did have a break/jump cue disappear out of a bar, granted my son forgot it there, but I called that same day and no-one could find it. So someone went "oh look, free cue stick someone was nice enough to leave for me" instead of "oh look someone forgot this, I should bring it to the staff to keep for the owner when he finds it missing".

Son also had his cell phone stolen from his case, odd thing is that there was no-one in the room at the time aside from kids from his junior league and a few parents, which means a kid or parent from league took it. Of course when this happened, the owner was on vacation and his security system was unplugged accidentally so no footage of what happened.

The only think scarier is losing a baseball glove. I mean, you can't just go buy one to replace it. It takes a few months to break it in for game ready play.... that's the part that sucks, that you have to do it all over again, and still wait another few months before you can play in a game with it. But, then again, a $250 glove is on the SP price point of most cues ;)

11 cubes of green master chalk a friend of mine gave me 2 weeks ago. He gave me 12 but I had one on me at the time.

They were I. A zip lock bag. I guess I made it an easy grab by leaving the pouch open but damn ....stealin chalk is a new low. Cues and Su h I could see someone being tempted but .25 cent chalk ?

Sorry for your loss
It takes a lot of courage to come forward and admit that you were victimized by a chalk thief.

At least you had one piece on you, and think how upset you would be if it was blue Master instead of green.
We have a serial chalk thief in Denver, his specialty is Blue Diamond.
The FBI estimates there are over 1000 serial chalk thief's operating undetected throughout the country.

The APA is trying to organize a task force, but they're having a hard time finding 5 people with a skill level of 23 or less.

I guess you can "chalk" this one up as a learning experience...

ooops that right you cant... it was stolen.. lol

Of ALL the places for this to happen too. Other than the long-gone Starcher's in Akron,High Pockets is my favorite poolroom in the WORLD.

It's behavior like this though that makes it NOT my favorite room any more, and I'll tell ya why here in a sec.

Keep this in mind. I live 2 1/2 hours north of there, but since 1990 or so I've spent a couple thousand hours there, and was pretty regular going back to when Jay Brown was there. I never had a single issue as far as basic security needs there. Under normal conditions,I always felt much safer in that part of town than I do over around The Rack for example.

However, the last time I was at High Pockets,me and my closest friend showed up specifically to eat and possibly hit some balls after.

We walked in,and after walking just past the counter,we stood still for a second and made an inside joke about the song that was on the radio, looked around, then went to the long side of the counter, sat down and started looking at the menu. At this point,we've been in the door maybe 2 full minutes.

Before we even get to make our decisions on what to eat,Tracy comes up with some blonde woman, and tells me he knows me,but doesn't know my friend Larry (which is inaccurate),and says he has to go,meaning I have to leave too.

Supposedly, the blonde (who he says is a regular) claimed she saw Larry going thru her purse, when neither of us had been within arm's reach of ANY purse, and there wasn't a purse within 20 feet of us where we were sitting.

I can't even get a clarification on this,he demands we leave,so we did.

Apparently, thievery at least appears to be rampant there. Tommy D.

I heard that someone on Ebay was selling some new Green Master Chalk....
Just sayin...........

lmao ...

that is a very nice gesture rj...even if as some one alluded ...you may have an ulterior motive by getting me hooked on it and then i gotta start buying it from you. :grin-square:

i will pm you my address ...how ever i am not the type of guy who takes advantage of some ones being nice. when i pm you ..pm me back your info and i will send you payment to cover the chalk and postage. just because i ranted about some one stealing some .25 cent chalk does not mean i am a cheapskate.:grin-square:

i blame myself for leaving the pouch open and creating a window of opportunity for some one to just snatch a bag of chalk out of it.

as i stated ..a friend gave it to me because i said i liked it better than blue because it seems to cover the tip easier.

if the theif had dug a lil deeper he would have found the following items.

1. an outlaw quarter holder...about 10.00 iirc
2.around 8.00 in quarters in above holder
3.apa nationals quarter holder...free
4. full roll of quarters in above holder...10.00
5. cue tec butterfly shaper/tapper ...around 20.00 iirc
6. cue cube shaper ...6.00 iirc
7. 2 new cubes blue master chalk
8. last but not least....barely used cube of kamui chalk ...25.00

glad all he took was the bag of chalk laying on top. :grin-square:

nah, no ulterior motive, just figured you got snookered, and I could send you some to replace it. No biggie. It's not like I sell cues or cases, and chalk is not all that much...

PM your address. I'm not the religious type, but I do believe in good karma, so maybe that bus that has my name on it avoids me for another day ;)

You need to start a victim's fund
Here is a link to GoFundMe.com.
There could be a lot of sympathy out there for an APA player with only on piece of Master chalk.
You might do OK, Fluffee the dog got 3 grand to fix the hole in the roof of his doghouse.

Personally, If I am by myself and shooting pool ANYWHERE, my case never leaves my sight.

If I need the bathroom I pack up and head over there with all my stuff.

That's just how I roll .. Never been robbed.

What are you saying? You don't have one of those "state of the art" cases with a toilet in it? Ah ... no matter, real pool players wear diapers and none of that is an issue.

who the hell brings their own master chalk??? they give it to you at the pool hall for free:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Well it was just chalk so you got a cheap lesson when it comes to pool players. My wife was playing in a tournament, some years ago and her gold plated tip tapper I had given her disappeared. It was also a collectable.

I had gotten it when I played in the reds tournament the one Efren won as Cesar Morales in Houston. Later one of the girls confided to her who did it. I am trying not to type the name but she is a champion player whose name is known by everyone on here.

It was part of the reason my wife quit playing pool as good as she played and she could really F'n play. I was happy, most of those girls were scum bags, even the ones whose names are well known.

those pieces are for broke ass pool players who have mastered the art of chalking with drilled out cubes.

i am just a banger who has to have a decent piece of chalk where it is easy to apply a liberal amount of chalk to offset my poor stroke to avoid miscues.

I've been to a lot of them....

The pool rooms I go to NEVER give out the Green Master Chalk, only the BLUE.

I think the answer for Masters could be something along the lines of this imbedded in the base of the cube:

microchip-for-dogs-300x135.jpg

However, it may raise the price to slightly more than Kamui!

LOL

Hey sometimes a guy just doesn't have the $2.99 cash to buy his own box of chalk!

And I'll be the first to say,,,,, someone caught stealing should be dealt with accordingly! If someone is caught stealing chalk out of someone else's bag,,,,, chop a hand off!!!

Let's see how many people steal after that example;)

It's too bad it's so easy to just steal somebody's stuff like that. What's the worst that could happen to the perpetrator?? Cut his hand off and not only do you teach him/her a lesson, but you others will learn by example;)

Stealing is one of the worst things someone can do to someone else. If you have ever been the victim it changes you. It is such a personal violation. I have had my house broken into, my car, my business.

It is hard to describe the feeling when you walk in and find it, it takes away your sense of well being and safety. I have walked out of a supermarket with something on the bottom of the cart that was not scanned and gone back to pay. I just won't take what is not mine not even from a supermarket.

Yes, I was a pool hustler and made a lot of money by deception. I won't even try to rationalize that, it was just a game to me to see if I could do it.
I have never actually ever needed money, it was just something to do and I happened to be good at it, so what can I say.
