"It's the Indian, not the arrow" the most nonsense I've ever heard.....

But how would you respond to someone, who overheard you talking about a new gun or purchasing a new gun and said ,
"you shouldn't buy that gun. It's the indian not the arrow."
IRL not sure how I would respond to that lol.

But I see where your arrow is going and as to your weighted question, I would say… “ I spends my money as I see fit and myob!”

But!! If, overheard, and the discussion centered on would this gun make me a better shooter? Then the only answer is SAMR (shoot a million rounds)

👍

He’d beat everyone except for other professional players. I think what’s missed in all of this is that if someone were to play themselves in some Mirror Mirror Star Trek Universe, I would bet on the guy who had his own custom cue over the guy who picked up something random of the bar wall (and I get to pick the bar).
Other professional players if you pick the bar if course.
Get a guy at 700 fargo walking into any bar you pick and he takes a cue off the wall, he'll beat anyone in there custom cue or not.
I have a custom cue and the custom cue feels good in my hands and looks exactly the way I want it to look but 700 fargo will beat my ass set after set if he walks into my poolroom, natural talent and mindset.
He'll beat you too with a stick off the wall custom in your hand or not
It's the Indian.

Me and the table, last page chapter 5

He is charm itself, because I’m not the enemy - yet. Eventually I will be the enemy and Alex will try to throw me off my game - unsuccessfully, as it turns out. But for now he is all sweetness and light, giving me useful tips alongside practice time, and gently mocking my cue, which isn’t what you’d describe as top-of-the-range.
‘That thing,’ he laughs, ‘is only good for holdin’ up fuckin’ tomatoes!’

You are Wrong. I have it straight from Fast Eddie Felson, well the player that could have lived that role was Cole Dixon. I was the benefit of his knowledge for a couple hour drive along with on the rail often. His statement to me after I purchased his back-up cue was, "I wouldn't be able to shoot with that cue now". It was a year later. 🤷‍♂️ . Well his "shoot with" standard was pretty high. Against you he could win with a broomstick. 😝 🤷‍♂️
That's funny, because the first time I saw Cole Dickson play, at the Brass Rail in Durham, NC, he picked up a POS house stick off the wall and tortured the best local player. This was when he was 19 and looked more like 16, so maybe he got more particular as he got older.

It's all about the precision he is er uh Was capable of was beyond understanding for mear mortals. With a WallaBuschka he could put whitey over a softball size target. With his Joss he could put it on a dime. High performance instrument in the right hands. 🤷‍♂️

You know I like that one! LOL!

Even the best arrow has almost no value to one who cannot shoot straight. Alternatively, a great shooter can grab a one-piece Dufferin off the wall and play at well over 90% speed.

It's the Indian and it always has been.

If you follow Baseball, you've heard about the new torpedo bat design. The creator, Aaron Leanhardt, had this to say about the new bat, "At the end of the day, it's about the batter, not the bat. It's about the hitters and their hitting coaches, not the hitting implements."

I find it hard to believe we are still having this discussion again.

It leaves me wondering of the OP plays pool. ;):ROFLMAO:
