I've been arguing with them over money owed from last session. The only non smoking bar closed. That left a team with a bunch of minors with no place to play. I have no idea why they were aloud in the league anyway. it was there first session and there was more then one smoking bar in the league. so 2 matches against this team didn't happen because well..they couldn't! This should have changed to bye weeks but not in the money grubbing apa. They felt that I should pay out $60 for 2 matches that not only didn't happen but couldn't happen. I'm not giving someone free money with no good or services in return. They did decide to pick up one week but I still refused. I understand there rule saying you have to pay for forfeits but the match couldn't happen! lol so last night I text and said I'm not paying so if that means were done were done. It text me back ok and My team has been deleted this morning lol It's no skin off my back.. I was tired of playing 4's who's only knowledge of the game was to hit every ball as hard as they could any way. I feel bad for the rest of the people on my team but they agreed with me thats it's ridiculous ..

APA just follows the money when it comes to administrative decisions, right and wrong has nothing to do with it.

Sounds like you are ready for big boy pool. Practice up and forget about it.

You could have just posted in one of the multiple bashing APA threads instead of creating new one...would have saved you some time/effort, but I see you like the attention so I guess:

Man sorry dude, that's fking bullsht!!! You were totally robbed there. Those fktards don't know who they are messing with losing your business! You show em who's boss!!

Feel better?

dude Ive been playing bca and acs for 20 years.. I played in this for my wife and now my son who are newer players and couldn't play on my bca teams. I was a 9 and was told I would come in at a 7 if I played apa 8 ball and the rules for apa really aren't for higher skilled players.

it's a public forum... you didn't have to read it. It's obvious what my post was about. I'm tired of reading color of money threads so I pass them by and let others interested chat it up. lol you should try it...you may enjoy the forum more lol Hell maybe I'm in the wrong on this topic and don't realize it.

Relax tonto...was giving you grief.

lol that's cool. I don't hate the apa really. I mean I love playing pool and am going to play every day any way. Our operators our just shitty lol They act like there doing you a favor running a league and taking your money. Consumers would never find that acceptable any where else but with the apa they seem to be okay with it. lol

I have a question. You say underage kids can't play in a smoking bar. Is it okay for them to play in a bar which serves alcohol but not if smoking is allowed?

It sounds like you made a choice to quit rather than being booted. I happen to think having to pay for a forfeit is BS as well but it is a rule the same as the rest of them. People shouldn't be confused, apa is a for profit organization.

I am glad that we have BCA and not APA up here, they sound like tools. Anyone have a TAP league they play in? We don't have those here either, what are they like?

Start your own "league". Be the LO. Give 90% of the money back. If you get only 6 teams, by the end of 3 sessions, (1 years) a team could get a free trip to Vegas for an ACS or other tournament. You'll have $7500 bucks to "pass out" in prize money and trophies, whatever.

Just have everyone sign up for ACS.. I think it's like $10 a year per player.... plus, the teams that dont' "win" the free tip, still get to sign up and go to Vegas like everyone else, they just pay their own way. Give the winning team after 3 full sessions a check to the team for $5K, and the $2500 can go to the 2nd and 3rd place team. Hell, who is not gonna like 6-1 odds of getting the free trip to Vegas. No playoffs, no city wides, no bullsht. You win, you go.

trob i want to commend you for playing in a league that you really dont care about with your son and other minors. its great you took them under your wing and was giving them a chance to play pool.

its unfortunate that the only place these kids were allowed to play closed. no its not your fault but its not the lo's either. it seems to me he was willing to meet you in the middle by cutting what you owed in half. you refused his offer and basically gave him an ultimatum." my way or the high way ". well he gave you the high way .:D

now since i have that out of the way let me address all you apa bashers responding.:D

it seems to me ya'll are bashing the entire apa organisation because the lo wanted his weekly fees. ya'lls comments about quitting apa because they are money grubbing b*stards and you should join this league or that league are comical.

name me one league out there where you can refuse to pay your weekly fee and still get to play. c'mon guys ...since the apa is a shitty organisation for wanting weekly fees paid tell me what leagues ya'll play play in that are so much better and let you play even if you refuse to pay your dues?

It's a little ridiculous that the league let your team register in the first place without some sort of plan in place on how to deal with the team full of minors issue.

That being said, they did let you join, probably under the assumption that you would follow the rules and not expect special treatment.

Having to pay for forfeited matches is a good rule. You read that right.

They promise trips as prizes, these trips are paid for from weekly dues. The matches you forfeited were included in the calculation for the prize pool before you even started the season.

Letting you out of paying for them takes money out of the prize pool and puts the league in the position of not being able to come through with trips to Vegas as promised.

I don't understand why you think your team deserves an exemption from the rule.

He never played any matches and that is why he refused to pay.

Just because the matches weren't played doesn't mean he doesn't owe the money.

Paying your weekly dues isn't actually paying for the right to play for the night, it's contributing to a prize pool.

The only other way to put the money in place for the prize pool is to charge for the season up front. Who has that kind of money just lying around? Thus the reason it's paid weekly through out the season.

according to the way i comprehended trobs statement .:grin-square:

the money is owed from the previous session where the team played all but 2 matches before the venue closed down.

to another posters statement about letting minors play.

the team nor the lo could not predict the venue where that team played would close leaving them no place to play.

the lo was willing to split the what was owed which i think was a fair offer.
