I've heard there are two unknowns heading to the swannee..

Not sure what to make of above the above links but I did supply the needed info for anyone looking to do a little detective work.

I understand New York was in contention for the Louie Roberts award.....
...he won about $800,000 playing pool, backgammon and gin rummy at the DCC.

But he was declared ineligible, 'cause nobody knows his name.
 
Ok I got some new information...

So I guess that one of the players hasn't really been out there yet due to familial obligations and the other one has had to go through some personal shit that prevented him from competing.

getting closer... just a few days away...

ok so this wasn't really a joke...

I know most of you thought this was a continuation joke from last year but I was actually semi serious...

I was talking about myself and my little brother who flew out from Colorado for the tournament.

I may not be entirely unknown any more after my half way decent showing in the mezz west state tour, but Christopher Rose was pretty much unknown until his 7-8th finish in the swannee last night...

I played pretty well and had a good showing until I ran into Mika on the B side of the tourney late Saturday night, and Chris played great until he almost gave Butch Barba a heart attack and then played Rodney in the next match.

He was a little out of it after Butch forfeited with chest pains midway through their match and then played Rodney, who is one of if not his favorite pro player.

We both look forward to playing in more events and I'll be playing in the top gun event for Mezz tour in March...

the top six were Vilmos, edgie, mika, rodney, corey and Brian Parks. I don't which order they ended up in though...Vilmos or Edgie ended up in 2nd 3rd or first for sure though.

I was there and one was from the mid east, Kansas or Nebraska, the other had and old balabuska, and only used magic chalk, the trouble they had was the had matched up 1 round, played to the hill and Mideast guy won, stole the others magic chalk, and then went on for 2 and out, They say you could hear his pick-up driving off , and swearing he will return, Douglas was his name, and 8 ball is his game, thought an extra ball wouldn't hurt, till his sister washed his favorite shirt. MAybe we will see them next year??????

Yo Jaden,

Since you are so impressed by these two "unknowns", why don't you send them to the Philippines to play the unknowns back there? We'll find out if they have anything worth mentioning against the unknowns in the Philippines.

After all, they are "unknowns" so they should be playing the unknowns , too.

And what better place to check the unknowns than in Manila, right?

You are the one that I didn't get to play that come to town! We both played in Fayetteville. I had my girls the weekend that you come to town so I couldn't come play any. The pool room called me to come play but my girls are my priority so I couldn't. I played Chris in some one hole but that was about all we got to play and he moved. They said you played pretty good and it was gonna be a good match if we could have played. I hate that I didn't get to play you, but Chris is a good dude so I am sure you have to be as well. Small world
