I've just discovered the holy grail for saving pool!!!! Must read!!!!!

I was just thinking, and I've discovered what should be the answer to everyone's problems!!!!!!

There's constant bickering about 7' tables, 9' tables, APA, Leagues, all sorts of nonsense.

I've come to this conclusion..........

Make a 9' table with 17.5 inch pockets!!!!!!! The corner pocket openings will reach to approximately one diamond up each rail.

Now the bar table players can play on a big table and still be able to make balls, and now all the tables will be the same size!!!!!!

No more going back and forth between 7' and 9' tables.

The League player will feel comfortable playing on the big table because he'll have a much wider pocket to shoot at!!!!! And when he's ready, he just switches over to the regular sized pockets.

Problem solved!!!!

Hey PocketPoint, why don't you just play snooker? Or are you too good for that, too?

PS - For all of your pot-stirring attempts, you still haven't got the nerve to put an offer out there for anyone..

Sounds just like him eh?

I had a difficult time figuring it out, what with all of the six new threads a day. It can be hard switching writing styles, too, especially when somebody's a little bit butt-retentive about their grammar. Which in itself is ironic, because of the misuse of 'good' where 'well' should be. ;)

He's "highly intelectual", but couldn't figure out my post relating his mocking of pocket/table sizes to his aversion to snooker.

He also doesn't like to socialize with people that play the game only for enjoyment or as a hobby, but he can't stop himself from posting nearly identical threads on here every couple of months - only to hear from those same people that he claims he'd otherwise have nothing to do with.

Just to top it off, he's never once made any real claims of how he plays. For so much hating, knocking and mocking, PocketPoint sure doesn't seem too eager to back it up.

I'm trying to figure out if you're upset with me. I was just coming up with an idea for a new kind of 9' table. Is there a reason why I shouldn't do that?

the really sunny thing is that in another thread whats the spot admitted he is an apa player and was complaining about losing a match because his $20 pocket marker was knocked off the table so he says the ref ruled he lost because his pocket wasn't marked. He also this happened the other night.

Yeah...sure you were....troll. Great new table concept.

he's always welcome to come to conyers GA. as well. he can play on the same diamond that countless guys have matched up on including chris bartram and danny smith. the the corner pockets are only 4 1/8. not that small;) or if he's a gold crown guy he can come to cues and play on the tour ed. gc5 it has 4 1/2 corners, i know - i know buckets. but then he can really show us how it's done. and i've got a legitamate apa 7 he can play. but your alligator mouth better not write checks that your frogs ass can't cash:D and don't come thinking of running racks. come thinking of running packages. i watched this lowly 7 put a 4 and a few 3's on a couple people this weekend. hey it's not his fault they were low numbers, he an off day:thumbup:

8-Ball Rules Question - Today, 05:57 AM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a question regarding 8-Ball played by APA rules.........

I have a tough shot of the 8-Ball into the corner pocket. One of his balls is near the 8-Ball, so he requests to have someone watch the hit.

I have already marked my pocket with an official pocket marker. My opponent brings over the guy that is supposed to watch the hit. So they are talking about what to look for on the good/bad hit.

The guy that is watching the hit accidentally knocks over my pocket marker on the floor. I was not paying attention as I was lining up the shot.

After I pocket the ball on a good hit, my opponent yells that I did not mark my pocket. The league operator is brought over to make a final decision, and he says that because my marker was not within a diamond of the pocket when I shot, I lose.

What do you think should be the response in this case?

First, I'd suggest not using an online Bachelor's degree print-out for his pocket marker, since paper is more prone to falling off of the rail. Secondly, how does somebody "watch a hit" so close to the table that they can touch something that's on the rail. To add to that, how does one allow somebody to be so close to the table while "lining up" for them to be able to knock something from the rail. Third, the marker implies the closest pocket, so the "within a diamond" nonsense is out the window(even if it fell on the floor, it is still the closest pocket). Lastly, if he is so good and too good for "leaguers" and others who play for enjoyment, why would he even have a problem "lining up", much less leave himself for a questionable shot? I hope it hadn't been on a barbox.

Yeah, his posts imply hip-wading equipment is necessary..
