Wanted to get other cuemakers take on Ivorine-4. I searched the forum's and couldn't find anything on it. Need to do some (non ivory) white collars and that's about all that's left besides Aegis which I don't especially like. Before I dump the change wanted to see if anyone had any good or bad results with it. Especially interested if anyone had done a full faced capped joint with it. If you have, any noticeable sound difference from straight double black. I understand it's less porous then the old number 3 stuff. Atlas isn't listing the one foot samples anymore, so you have to bite off a pretty good size piece to try it out.
Thanks up front.

Steve, the stuff is the strongest material I've ever used. You have to cut it with carbide. It will actually flatten hacksaw teeth in 20 seconds. It hits great in a joint...no weird sound or anything, same as double black. Polishes very smooth with no trash or pits. Only downside is it has a very visable linen pattern, much like canvas-resin. You can clearly see the weave.

ditto on what varney said,,,used up the samples and may buy some more,,,got too much else to use up first...LOL

Saber-T would be a better choice for something similar to the playability and cleanliness of Ivory (w/out the cost).

Corey, he's talking about using it in the joint. I didn't realize you offered SaberT in anything other than ferrule size...do you?

Ooops. Nope meant for ferrules.

We are though testing the material for joint and buttcap material. We'll see how it holds up.

If all goes well, it would be at least 6 mos. till it would be ready to sell.
