Ivory Joint

VERY INTERESTING. I've only made 3 ivory joints & all have been threaded and capped. One is my own cue & there is a unique difference in the hit with an ivory joint. I love it. Although mine are capped, Arnot's insight makes a lot of sense. I have a close friend with a custom elk horn joint that is sleeved instead of capped. No problems for 6 years.

I don't sleeve, or thread my Ivory joints. I do make the wall thinkness, a little thicker than with other materials & have never had any problems with cracking or breakage. They are also the through & through type...JER
