i know this may sound stupid, but after seein how standard points are done with veneers and all how are ivory points installed? i cant imagine it would be the same as that would be a lot of ivory cost, but i could be wrong. can anyone enlighten me?
Ivory long points or short points are pricey indeed. I especially like them as short points or in windows or boxes. Even for those who are set up to do flat bottom points, the cost is substantial. Wider, thicker, longer--ivory costs increase dramtically. When done well ivory points can look awesome in a cue.

They are done both ways. As a matter of fact I was talking to dw about doubt an ivory pointed cue and he said most makers that buy from him just glue his point straight in no work needed that's how nice and square his ivory is for points. So makers are deff making ivory points vgroove style
bebot bautista makes points in both ways. but due to the costs involved, making a v-groove is not really lucrative. so most of the time, we just make it otherwise.
