I've decided to go the jump/break route again, and want to hear some opinions on which ones to look at....

sorry if this is in the wrong folder, but I figured those who bought and sold lotsa cues would be a bit more experienced in many different cues (instead of the guy who's owned one, thinks it's great, and hasn't tried any others). Here's the what I'm wondering...wait to try out the McDermott version of the Stinger (out next week), go with an older proven goody (according to what many have said) the Fury, or save a buncha cash and just get a J&J for 60 bones???? Other possibilities out there, of course, so I'm willing to hear why this one or that one is worth the $$$.

Thanks in advance for your replies

i heard form a friend that the mcderomot j/b is nothing special at all, mediocre at best. i hear nothign but good things about the j&j, hammer head, and geno ferro

You can't beat the J&J for the money. It breaks very well. Haven't tried jumping with one though.

I didn't know anyone has had their hands on a McDermott Stinger yet....I have a friend who has the Jerico, but I don't wanna pay over $300 for a jump/break.

I sold my Jacoby jumper to a friend who really liked it, so I'm used to a pretty good jumper....hope I can find a J/B that'll preform pretty close to the Jacoby in the "jump" category.

I have a J&J. Breaks not bad but not a great jumper. I recently bought a Gino Ferrari (whoever that is) on EBay from a guy who also posts here. It has a wood pin, just like the Mezz jump cue. This baby scatters the balls like crazy and jumps effortlessly, very accurate. For $65 you won't get a better j/b cue. If you're interested I'll post the EBay link here for you.

wonder if there's a difference between the cue you're talking about and the Kaiser J/B (also a wooden pin)??? I've heard a few good things about those too....

It cost less then $150 including modifying the tip/ferrule

i had both the j&j and the fury j/b (current cue). i like the the fury better, but if cash is a consideration the j&j is a good value for the money.
