Gotta say for the price these bad boys can make some noise. I finally got to hit mine tonight and I was really breaking the balls well. Just gotta keep the cue ball on the table, this was the first night I hit with it so its different. I was using a cheap shooting cue and you can tell the difference. They jump very very well and is easy to tear apart or screw back together. They look good and seem to be made well. For less than $100 with shipping, you can get an awesome break/jump cue.

for $65,i don't think they can be beat.

I think you're right Mason.

To the OP: If I remember correctly, there are a few threads in this place that discuss your CB problem and flattening the tip a bit may help.

I don't think they can be beat for 150, the fact that you can get them for 55-65 shipped just makes them all the better.

I Used One Of These For A Long Time. They Work Great, I've Sold A Pile Here Locally To The Bar Guys And They Love Em.

i also agree played a guy last night and was making balls every break until he wised up and bought it for 125

I think the j&j break cues suck IMO the shafts are to fat. I think that my 50 dollar player cue with a phonolic tip is better made and is more comfortable with a 13mm shaft. I have never cracked a player yet. Killed 2 J&J's thoe in the past. I think for realy cheap cues player and 5280 cue seem to hit good. Action cues ferrules usally the ferrules are to soft.:)

I recently purchased a nice butterfly J&J jump/break from Troy at KOINNKID. Having tried pretty much everything else with no luck, I decided to give one of these a test drive. When I first got the cue out of the package, my first impression was "looks real nice". Then I took some practice strokes with the shaft and I thought "POS". I couldn't break worth a damn with it out of the box. The shaft was 14 mm thick and quite sticky. Did not feel good in my hand at all. So, I took the shaft over to Dale Perry's shop (yeah he's right down the road from me) and had him turn it down to 13 mm with a nice long taper. Problem solved! This thing hits a TON now! I haven't tried jumping with it yet because I'm not much for jumping anyay. I sure wish I had gone this route first! For the money, you can't get a better jump/break stick.

A Great Value for Sure!

Heck, most cue-guys on here wouldn't turn a shaft for $65!

I just picked up a couple of these on here from doozie for some Door Prizes for our upcoming 8-ball League Party......they will definitely be a BIG HIT -- definite PUN intended   :D

in my experience the tip size varies a bit from shaft to shaft, most are between 13 and 13.5

most 'normal' pool cues are about 12.75 or 13mm. 13.5 or 14mm isn't unusual for a break cue, i like mine pretty fat for breaking along with a really stiff taper.

I've used higher end custom break cues that didn't hold a candle to these cues. They hit like Mike Tyson on steroids and human growth hormone. Especially on Diamond bar boxes.
