Jack Klugman on The Twilight Zone

As many of you probably know, Jack Klugman passed away yesterday. Just so happens that my daughter gave her husband a DVD Set of The Twilight Zone tv series for Christmas yesterday. After seeing on tv last night that Mr. Klugman passed away, my Son In Law asked me if I wanted to watch an episode called A Game of Pool from the Twilight series (starring Jack Klugman) with him. He had seen it before and thought I would enjoy it, which I did. My Son In Law knows nothing about billiards so I was able to answer many questions he had. I told him about the forum here and how much I have learned here over the years. Told him I would post today and see if I could get any other info about the episode. Such as, what type of cues and cases were used, type of table, who did the actual shot making and is a nine rail bank shot even possible? Hope to get some replies. Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks for all the enjoyable hours I spent watching you. Rest in peace Jack.

Wonderful topic.

Klugman's work as Quincy when I was young was one of my inspirations to pursue medicine.

RIP

It will be interesting to see what info people can come up with on that episode.

Does anybody know if Klugman in fact played pool at all?

EDIT: I am watching that episode on youtube right now.

Actually, you can see the entire episode on Youtube in three parts. I watched it.

Each time a cue knocks the table my toes curl, LOL!

Klugman does it once in anger, Winters once while unscrewing his cue.

I'm picturing a ding.....and I can't not think about it! LOL!

I named our cat Quincy and he was the wisest animal I have known. He lived to be 18 with many adventures and a great story of a life. It was in retrospect that I realized Quincy the cat was also a talented pathologist and could open anything rather easily. I also named my dog Jack and he lived with us for 16 years, always smiling and ready to have a good day even when he was sad. One can learn more from animals sometimes then from people. However, never count the people out... :-)

Jack the man had a warmth about his personality and a likability rarely matched. I named my pets after him and his characters. He kept me company with Tony in the Odd Couple as I was alone in NYC as a student. Watching that friendship and their episodes on TV along with my other favorite show - Taxi, was like having a family of friends and they stayed my friends for the rest of my life.

That is the gift Jack left us all and he will live on in our minds and hearts. Thanks Jack!
