Anybody here ever have Jack Zimmerman work on their tables? I've heard nothing but good things about him. Outstanding things really. He lives over around the east edge of Indiana. not too far from the Ohio border.

Before the cold weather hits I might try and coax him into coming down and putting new cloth on my Diamond Professional and my Gold Crown IV. And while he is here having him take a gander at the GCIV to see if he notices anything that might not make it play very well.

I spoke with him for 10 or 15 minutes about working on my rails. I got the impression that there isn't anyone I'd rather send my rails to for recalibrating. Unfortunately, I don't feel that way about the UPS. You have two tables, if I were in your shoes I'd ship him the gc rails. He can check the rubber and angles and recloth them before coming. Course, if I was in your shoes I'd also have him tighten up those pockets on those rails with new rubber.
By the way, there has to be a problem with your diamond setup to be thinking about new cloth in the fall. I've had my gcIV for about 8 years, it needs tighter pockets, not new cloth.

Jack does fantastic work! I have a set of his Anniversary rails with Artemis installed and pockets to original specs. Plays great! I highly recommend!

Please state why you want to re-cloth. After you answer I will comment. Thanks.

I said later in the year I might have new cloth put on. I had the standard Simonis Green 860 installed when the table arrived the other day. The standard Simonis Green is very dark. I have the Apple Green on my Gold Crown IV.

So, since there is nothing like having new cloth, I might just go ahead and have both replaced at the same time. Probably will go with the Shark Gray on the Diamond Professional and Powder Blue on the Gold Crown IV.

Again, neither table needs new cloth. And they won't need it later in the year before cold weather hits. But I have to spend all my $$$ on something and since there is nothing like new cloth - what the heck...:)

Plus while he is here he can check out the Gold Crown and see if he can spot anything that would make it play better.

The grey Simonis is awesome however on your Diamond I’d go for Camel. Apple Green on the GC

If I win the lottery, one of my tables will be the best GC-1 I can get restored by the best who will take on the job with camel cloth. Ode to early ‘’60’s Brunswick goodness and the first pool hall I went to.
My 60’s was a white GC with a gold cloth. I hope you do win.

I was supposed to get 860 powder blue with my new/used Peter Vitalie table but the crook that sold me the table shorted me cloth and new pockets.

I ended up getting Andy 988 in powder blue on a closeout for $200. As soon as our new house is finished and the repairs are completed on the table, I’ll get it setup.

Line up your mechanic in advance when you have some dates. Use only the best. They are worth waiting for.

DCP has had probably 10 cloth changes on his GC4 the past 15 years. He changes it a TON. Good for him actually, fresh cloth is so nice to play on.
