Jacoby Cues / Awesome Customer Service

A few weeks back I posted a thread about a shaft I received that was defective around the joint insert. I didn't name the cuemaker due to the fact that I wanted to see how they handled the situation.

That cuemaker was Jacoby Custom Cues. After that weekend and a phone conversation with David Jacoby and a guy named Paul, I have to say that David and his crew are some of the most professional upscale business people out there. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase.

I have bought several level 1 cues from a few different cue makers as a test of their quality and workmanship. You can tell the integrity and quality of a cue-maker by his entry level cues. A great cue maker will put the same heart and effort into his 400 dollar cues as he will is 4000 dollar cues. I am on a quest to decide who I want to make my custom cue and Jacoby is now at the top of that list.

Thank You David and Paul at Jacoby Custom Cues.

I have heard nothing but good things about Jacoby Cues. That is the main reason why they are on the top of my short list of cue makers for my next cue.

I have known Dave and his son's for years always a pleasure to talk to. If you get a chance to go to the shop check it out it's very nice. Nekoosa Wisconsin small town if you look left you pass it turn around look right and you pass it again.

Nice to hear about quality customer service. I've never dealt with Jacoby, but after this thread, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them.:smile:

LOL... I live in Tallahassee Florida and don't get to many chances to make it that far North.

But I can relate to the small town comment. I grew up in a town of less than 6000 people, ha ha.

Good to know. My husband's friend has a Jacoby and luckly no problems. But knowing they stand behind their products makes them more appealing.

So please fill us in as to how you ended up dealing with this situation. In your previous post you seemed reluctant to give the cuemaker a chance to right the wrong but apparently you changed your tune on that. Did you send the cue back, have him make a new shaft? Curious.

Ditto!

I ordered a high-end Jacoby last year and it took 4months to build. I've been playing with it for 6months now and it best cue I've played with in a very long time. It does have a predator 314-2 shaft, but the butt has a great balance/weight. A few months ago I sent in a request to have him build me a lower end model and a break/jump for the road, since I don't want to take my player all over the country for work. They are almost done! I'm very excited to see the results. David and his crew do a great job!
Cheers, Mark

I was never reluctant to give them a chance to right their wrong. I merely wanted peoples opinions on the subject. The simple fact that I did not state their name at the time was BECAUSE I was waiting to see how it would turn out.

They sent me out a new shaft. I was a little worried because one of the guys told me it may not be a perfect fit diameter wise. Looking back on it I guess that was the best thing to say as the butt was not there to check it against. When the new shaft arrived it was a perfect fit.

As I'm sitting here typing this, I'm wearing my "Jacoby Custom Cues" T-shirt ........... it's my favorite T-shirt.

My playing cue is a Jacoby. It's the second one I've owned (I traded the other one in on my current one) and I'll be picking up my 3rd Jacoby cue tomorrow evening from Koinkid and I can't wait to get it!

I have had a few phone conversations with the Jacoby staff and they have always been extremely pleasant and helpful and visiting with them at their booth at the ISPA this April told me a lot about how they treat people and I have nothing but good things to say about them, their cues, and their customer support.

They have also been awarded "Cue of the Year" honors for two years in a row now! That's quite an accomplishment for a cuemaker. That in itself should tell you something.

They make top of the line quality cues with features and designs that are second to none and at very reasonable prices. They should be at or towards the very top of anyone's list when considering having a custom cue made.

Originally, Dave worked out of the garage at his home out in the country. Here's a pic of his house. Maybe thats what you remember, the sign was hard to see. He opened the store in town about 10 years ago.

Jacoby has won the only two cue competitions held by the ACA up in Valley Forge the past two years. Brandon, Dave,Paul and the rest of the crew makes sure their customers are happy as well as staying current in designs and making fresh ideas for the cues they manufacture. David made my personal playing cue and I get offers every time I go to a show or tournament. When you consider every step of what a company means to an industry, they are the best. They support the industry in tourny sponsors. David plays in tournys. He manufactures a quality product. He stands behind his product and conducts business based on keeping customers for LIFE. He wants to leave a legacy, not just make a quick buck. Jacoby Custom Cues is what every other company dealing with pool SHOULD be.
