James Aranas

yup, I'm sure of it....
another case where the US absolutely got everything wrong. Those no good MOFO's. No way homeland officers, airport security, the FBI, CIA, general cops for that matter, are trained and given a set of rules to abide by.... Just can't be. I mean hell, everyone on AZ and run amuck media says so, right... impossible that DO broke some rules right.... reminds me of general pool halls, 47 know it alls about everything in life, yet can't get out the pool hall! what a joke. Amazing how everyone hates this place, but no one will leave and everyone else wants to be here.

Problem with the so-called 'illegal visa usage' is that there are no set rules on how often you can return. Also, where did you read that Aranas was dodging military service? I must have missed that somewhere.
1. they must have thought it was illegal, they made the call and banned him for 5 years. 2. The other comment was about FEDOR and I was clearly speaking in general at that point. 3. check your pm.s

In these cases they did get it wrong. Not having set rules in place and just leaving it up to the whims of hack immigration officers is insane.

You really are a moron at times. Have you followed ANY of these visa threads????? For the LAST time so READ closely: There are NO set rules/regs. pertaining to how often you can return to the states. Tourist visa's are good for 10yrs and you can stay for six mos. at a time. The problem is there is NO set rule on how quickly you can return after going home. Its TOTALLY up to each individ. immig. agent. Total bullshit. If you can't/don't understand the lunacy of this then there's little hope for you.
I don't think that's the point.
The point is what you're doing while you're here with the type of visa that you have.
Tourists visa are for - tourists. People coming to visit. I doubt there's a crackdown on Pilipino mother in law's coming to the states to see the grandkids for a few months.
DO and DD are not tourists. They are here for work (explicitly even stated in Roy's post "There is nothing in the Philippines to support his family".)
So yes, it sucks, but yeah, wrong visa fellas. They come here and make real money, and are probably sending or taking a lot back home with them.
That's something both countries really care about knowing, hence there even being multiple visa types, hence penalties when you don't comply.

Well we had god friend who works for DHS in GA, he is GS 13 Supervisor.

Training is what most Feds get, lots of it, they have money to sped on it.

Maybe Sheriff Andy, and Deputy wee not super cops, but not much happen in Mayberry.

People are arrested, stopped daily all
Over World, or told you can not enter our Country.

Think it is good given right, it’s not. You are just a guest.

Buddy was US Embassy Guard, Denmark. Came back to state at end of enlistment. Got discharged, desire on his own to return to Fenmarl , live with gf, and work.

Upon arriving he was told he could visit 30, could not become resident, as he had no need skills. 30 days, and left for home.

Reason Danish Citizens get first crack at all employment.

Tourist visa(B1) allows athletes to compete for prize money. Think this was covered in the DO thread. Tourist visa does not allow you to take a regular job. There are visa these guys can get that allow 5yr stays. That's what they need.

not down the line 27 hand pass the word, I mean factual, you were in the room know.... just assuming officers, people, don't know what the rules are while they are employed to do just that very thing... I don't know man..

but then again, it is California!

I've talked with a few immig. lawyers. The guy in Miami has been doing it over 25yrs. Tourist visa allow 6mo stays and are good for 10yrs. How often one returns to the states is the problem. Bigger problem is there is NO set rule on how often one can return. Its 100% up to the officer handling the case. I emailed my senator, who happens to be on a border committee, and asked about this. He said this has been an issue for years and for whatever reason cases are still handled this way. Lunacy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you plan on getting a Work Visa for the U.S., don't you need your potential employer to file a petition that needs to approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) beforehand? How does that for work if you're basically self employed?

Shouldn't they apply for a P-1 athlete Visa instead of a B-1? https://www.visapro.com/resources/article/us-visa-for-athletes/
For a B-1 visa, this part - the foreign team and players’ income and salaries are principally earned in the foreign country - might not work out since they make most of their money in the U.S.
B-1 allow an athlete to compete for prize money. Can't take a regular job tho. Needs work visa for that.

Yes, I get that but one of the requirements is that they don't earn the majority of their income in the U.S. Or is there a difference between income/salary and prize money?

Did you guys see Roys latest FB post? He described that DD was in a holding area for 20 some hours with dozens of European athletes doing the same thing he was in their own sport with a tourist visa.

His message was get an athlete visa not a tourist visa to any international pool player.

What they need is a P-1. Good for five yrs. Read info in that link i posted. You can compete for prize money on a B1 but its only good for 6mos at a time and you run the risk of what's happened to these guys.

Meanwhile, there are some aid programs wherein peoples' status are not questioned.
