Thanks, Nick. And that is a good description of the "hit". The word Jim uses is "lively". Whatever we want to call it, I like it!

This arrived yesterday and I was going to post pics last night, but I got too wrapped up in playing with it. :D Sorry about the crappy pics. I'm signed up for Jimbo's remedial class. ;)

Jim was great to work with on this cue and his execution is flawless. And, he even threw in the Fellini case! Just kidding on the case part . . . .

I have to give special props to Zeeder for basically taking my design ideas and putting them into a picture that Jim could work from. He is a DESIGN MONSTER!!!

Da specs:
- 59", 19.55 oz., both shafts over 4 oz., balance point at 19-3/4" with the lighter shaft
- cored amboyna burl front, 5/16-14 piloted ivory joint, ivory buttcap, ivory and abalone inlays

This one will join my other "long-termers".

Do you notice anything interesting about the joint picture?
Scott,
Glad to see you got a really nice cue!
Bring it to Tulsa, I want to see it " in person"

Amen!!!

BTW - it has not been mentioned in a few days, but bears repeating. . . . you guys are gonna be blown away by Zeeder's design next year!

Scott,

The cue really came out beautifully! As I'm sure I told you, I'm not much of a fan of abolone but I love the way you used it in your cue.

As much as I like my design I believe your design is more innovative. We'll definitely have to get together and "compare notes" once my White is finished!

great cue !!

That's sweet. I don't know how that cue could get any better. The amboyna really works with the veneers and shell inlays.

You know it's one of theirs from across the room........but ahhhhh, what a refreshing mix of attributes that Mottey/White they known for with a completely new twist on inlays.

Simply put, it's a stunner !!

You'll need to get those two together for a "new-age" family photo.

I'm sure I may be missing some inside joke from another post, but the true test of a cuemakers worth isn't just that they line up, but the ring on the shaft has smaller diamonds and that's how it should be.

I really love how the Abalone is inlaid to highlight the "Lazy S". Would like to see how that was done step by step during construction.
Noticed it has a Irish Linen wrap, that mean this is going into the "Playing Case"?:D

No, Scott is the one freak that doesn't like leather wraps!! Jim tried to get him to go with black lizard, and Scott said NO!!!!

Si, Steve, Sean, Zeeder, Edward, Denny, Shar, (sorry if I forgot anyone) thanks for all of positive comments. I think even Ross likes it, but it's hard to tell with him!

Chris - yes it has 5 veneers and the point of each veneer layer is even across all four points. Not just the outer veneer, all of them. That's tight.

Sore - Jim said that those abalone slivers were a pain to work with. I also wish I could have seen him installing them.

Jimbo - I'll have to measure the ring inlays up and down the cue to see if they get smaller as you go up. I believe Dennis Searing did that with the milled rings he put in Si's Orange Crush cue. Very impressive touch.

Now that Marcus has posted his new Tasc, my 15 minutes in the spotlight are fading. :p I got a nice tan from it though. :D
