jamie bowman vs shawn putman

okay, i'll stick to the topic - I think Shawn Putnam can beat Jamie Bowman on the barbox. Not every set but I think Shawn gets the cash. Even if they play in Jamie's room.

Now somebody match them up so we can see who's right :-))

I am sorry, did you say Dennis was giving the 6 out to champions? Well the 5 out and the breaks ought to be no problem for him to overcome given all that I have heard about him. I have plenty of faith in Kelly to get there with that spot which is why I agreed to bet it.

Why should I take the same spot that stronger players lost with?

Where is your faith in Dennis?

The five out and the breaks is way out of line. I bet that his backers would give Kelly the five out, however. You should try that. And it's got nothing to do with my faith in Dennis, it's got to do with the fact that Dennis would probably never get to the table giving up the orange crush. Think about it.

:-) Yeah I know Jay. But you know, the girls can't play.....

I'd be willing to adjust. If Dennis loses then we'll go to the 6 out and the breaks, then the 7 out, then 8, then the breaks then we'll spot dennis a ball but keep the breaks, and so on...

But we will never give up the break. It's disheartening to be stuck inthe chair for 10 games. :-)

Or, we could just play alternate breaks with the 5 out on Dennis' break and the 6 out on Kelly's.

By the way - I am only posting all of this hypothetically, I don't in any way represent of speak for Kelly Fisher. However if she were to make any of the games I proposed I would glady go broke betting everything I could on her.

When Matlock was supposed to be king of bar box. I saw him an Keith play at the Maverick club in Richmond, Ky. Matlock had Keith down 3 games I believe playing 8 ahead. Matlock got to kick on time before pay day for Keith. Keith shot at every ball an ran out from every where. One set an David M. was done. I bet on Keith that day. Keith put on some incredible
proformances at the Maverick in those days winning tournaments an gambling. When he hit his gear it was all over.

Keith gave them all "the cure" for a while there. He retired a few of the Mexican champions. His first nickname in California was El Diablo, a name given to him by a Mexican champ. It means "The Devil".

Shane has a good game; but I was with them one day and they could not get the match right. Shane said that he would not play Jessie on a 7ft because he said he could not win, and then he went on to say that he doesnt think anyone out there could stay with him (Jessie) for a race to 27 on a bar box. But he was willing to play heads up on a 9ft against him, and Jessie did not like that bet (plus there wasnt one anywhere around at the time). So they jawed around a bit and never played. It was a fun conversation to watch. You could see a lot of respect for each other's ability there.

That's about right, but neither one would play Dennis on either table I promise you. It goes beyond respect.

Only with weight will anyone this side of the Pacific play Dennis Ten Ball (on any table) or Eight Ball on a bar table. We'll see how much they like it if I bring him to Vegas. They can all line up as far as I'm concerned. The first one to beat Dennis will bust me.

You sure are biased toward Canadians aren't you. I bet you'll start throwing out names like Potier, Tourangeau, Vidas, etc. in a couple more posts.

Edwin Montal is one of the most underrated players in the world. He finished second in both divisons at the U.S. Bar Table last year, with deep strong fields. Lost to Mike Davis in the 9-Ball finals and Dennis the Menace in Eight Ball.

Dennis did NOT give the 6 out to any champions. He gave the eight and nine to Chris Bartrum in Ten Ball. And the seven and eight to a couple of lesser 9-Ball players.

Kelly can have the 7 out and the breaks in Ten Ball since she is a girl. You got action at this game.

I know Jay. I was just playing off of Cuechat's original post. If I had the extra money to blow and the time I would stake Kelly against Dennis with the 7-out and the break. She almost beat him at the IPT event where they played. Kelly with the 7 out and the break might see a few sets where Dennis doesn't see the table. And before all the nits jump out of the woodwork crying BET, Kelly and I are on opposite sides of the world so the game is not going to happen unless a lot of stars line up - and even then it wouldn't be for anything close to life changing money.

However, IF anyone wants to give her the 5 out and the breaks, we can dance, I'll buy the drinks. Maybe one of those great unknowns???

Dennis is a stud, no question. But bring him to Vegas. He wont run away from either I can Guarantee that, just be careful he doesnt hook up with Kirkwood, you could get busted your first night there.

Sounds like that 5K bet just went down to 500. No worries mate. I knew this match was far fetched. But little Dennis is not done over here by any means. We just talked yesterday. He's a comin'.

We won't play with Jason. He's one of my favorite guys in Pool. Class act with gobs of heart. I bet ON him, not against him.

Hey DJ, shouldn't Jamey first snap off that guy in Cedar Rapids.....Ron..um?..O'Mally?...or something before taking on Putnam????? :D

thanks for keeping the thread on track. O'Mally? sounds like a beer drinker. that would be a good game between those two. Wonder what the line is on that?

dj you are awesome. thanks for keeping this on target. maybe you should start a new thread that is only about JB. I sure he is enjoying the spotlight. I think he is the best player in the quad cities and a nice guy to boot. I wish more pool players could be like him. :p

Jamie if you are reading this "you are the best" and dj you are pretty smart guy too. can you guys come to des moines again? bring scott. jamie thinks that is a good game.

mike athens

ron omeara is a solid player but i don't think that he could beat jamey bowman.

its closer than you think. both those guys play solid and either one could win. its a pickem.

ron is in that group after you get the 5-6 pros out of the way for the best in the state. to me after the pros, you could lump 8-10 guys together without much difference in talent level.

and I should know cause neither can beat me.:D
