Chris...Friends yes, but Bass Pro is JL's biggest sponsor. She makes a good 6-figure income annually from them. APA supplies another 6-figure income stream. JL kills it when it comes to professional pool sponsorship...and deservedly so, imo.

BTW, your Ki Tech tips are the total BOMB! I love them!

Hey, Scott! How's it hangin'? I agree. I have a picture of her here on the wall at work playing billiards and lots of people recognize her. Some have no idea what her name even is or the Black Widow, either. Just know she plays pool & it's not a very good picture of her. The one I have of her and me together in my pool room is a cherished item. She is a dynamite person. Very open and giving in my experience.
 
Hi Bill...It's gotta be 10 years since I came to your house! I still remember the great layout you have, and also us going out to one of the poolrooms to play some afterwards! :thumbup:

It's actually the opposite, BPS is possibly going to buy Cabela's. Not trying to be a dick by correcting you by the way. I work for BPS and we just had a meeting about this last week......When I saw this thread yesterday I kind of laughed out loud because I thought, I bet no one I work with has a clue about this commercial and JL. Of course, I asked a few in my department about the commercial and no one was even familiar with it. As someone else said, it appears she gets to just play the "hot chick" role pretty much. Regardless, as others have said, getting her face on tv is always a good thing.

Ironically, myself and many others helped take the jeans in the commercial out of boxes and put on tables for Black Friday......Apparently, this jeans sale is a big thing since everyone from all departments had to alternate shifts to get them all out. There are tables with jeans on them pretty much making a giant ring in the isles around the entire store. I didn't realize BPS is one of her bigger sponsors and think that's pretty cool.

Yup my bad. I realized I left out been & by after I posted but too lazy to fix lol. A lot of people are upset as they love Cabelas and loathe Bass Pro. I only know of it cause I was turned onto it by one of my stock peeps 😊

I've worked for both companies and they are both solid for outdoorsman. Some people prefer one or the other and I get it. I grew up in ND and we only had Cabela's and it was heaven every time I walked in the door (of course my wallet shrunk....). Both are fully loaded with good stuff (pretty much the same stuff actually) and have great customer service. From what I've heard it's basically a coin flip whether the buyout will happen or not and that the only one who really knows is Johnny Morris. I'm curious to see what happens. If you're ever at the BPS in Denver, swing by the fishing dept and say hello.

Will do, been meaning to visit Denver lol. I should clarify my statement so its not taken as a dig on the whole store. I'm into sport fishing and the comment I made was actually geared towards that. We don't even have Cabelas round these parts but we do have a BPS right next to the casino so I always stop in and find something to buy lol.
 
A lovely young woman with lot's of talent, and obviously a head for business, too.
Bass Pro Shops headquarters is located in my fair city, Springfield, Mo.
We boast about BPS being here as well the birth place of Cashew Chicken, and the city where Brad Pitt grew up and went to school. Also, it's the hometown of Kathline Turner, and Payne Stewart. The city where John Goodman went to college. The wild west town where Wild Bill Hickock shot Bill Tutt in a real-life gunfight on the public square. And, of course, the birthplace of the ever so handsome scamp of a pool player, Tramp Steamer.
A quick note: Johnny Morris, owner of Bass Pro, grew up here as well, where his father John Morris Sr., owned several liquor stores named Brown Derby.
As a young man, Johnny was an avid fisherman (still is when he has the time) and asked his dad if he could borrow a corner of one of the Brown Derby's to display and sell a line of fishing tackle he had acquired. Mr. Morris agreed and Johnny put out a few racks of merchandise in a corner of the store at Glenstone Ave. and Commercial St., here in town. I remember seeing it, many years ago whilst buying beer.
The rest, as they say, is history. :smile:
