Jason Miller Wins

Orginally I had put Jason in the tournament with a couple of friends. When I put the 1500.00 up I was told there would be 18k with 6 players (winner take all) So we thought we had a good chance to make some cash. Get to the tournament and find out they changed it to 2 five man ring games. Also read on here that they are supposed to draw on Friday night at 7 pm. We get to the tournament and once I pay the other 1500.00 I'm told that chopping isn't allowed to take place, and that Grady was going to make first place get 10k and 2nd place get 5k. He said that he only had the table, and in order for Accusats to sell the tapes it had to be over in a certain period of time. I saw Grady with my 2 friends while he was eating. We told him that this wasn't right, and what would be done about it. He said that he was going to leave it up to the players to decide how they wanted to do it. I told him that the backers should have some say so in it, and that if it wasn't winner take all we no longer wanted to put up 3k to have a change to win 7k. He said that it should be an honor to stake someone like Jason (which it truely was). I mentioned that we would barely double our money, and he felt like we should'nt care about the payouts someone should just put the money up. After this was said my friend and I said that if he couldn't guarantee that it was winner take all we wanted to withdraw from backing. He gave us our money back, and went and w/d Jason from the banks. Instead of finding him another backer he said he wouldn't allow him to play in the ring game, since we w/d him. Finally he allowed him back in the tournament with another backer. Just wanted to let azers know exactly how the situaion was ran!

very interesting.....

Thanks for the info. I was hoping you could add to the point of your post I put in bold. How could Grady stop chopping from happening & what would be the penalty if it happened??

Congrats on 1000 posts.

He can't stop people form chopping. If he were going to try, they wouldn't take a "break" right before the all-in takes effect. I know what the chop was in both games and they weren't the same. They should be allowed to do whatever they want to. It is the backer's money and the players are giving them action. I promise the players aren't *****ing. 1500-4500 dollars for a couple of hours work suits them just fine.

I just got off the phone with a friendly who is attending the DCC.
He has a copy of the handout the players got before the ring game
started. it is an explaination of the format, and clearly states that
if the contest is not decided by 10:00 PM they will go to "all in"
at that point

so they knew going in about both the time constraint and the
betting requirement.

hope this helps clear up any confusion.

I personally spoke directly to Truman about "a copy of the handout the players got before the ring game" and he told me that he never got anything before the ring game. Maybe what you were told was something that the people in the booth got.
