Jay Helfert for Jay Swanson

Thanks. I was on like my 6th wind by the time I played Tang and he was looking like the old Tang. I really only missed 1 shot that was one I definitely should have made (I missed 2 others but both were sort of low percentage shots anyway) but it was enough to put the nail in the coffin for me. It doesn't take much in a race to 7, especially when a guy is playing well. Just seeing how everyone had been playing, I liked Tang to get to the finals after our match but, from what I saw, Billy played well the whole tournament. As it turns out, Tang did get to the finals and it sounds like Billy continued to play the way he had been playing the entire time.
Thanks for the update for us. Sounds like it was first class playing by everyone.

Wasn't it a race to 9? I'm guessing they shortened it because of time constraints?

The winner's side was race to 8 and the loser's side was race to 7.

Congratulations to Billy. Super nice guy and a hell of a player. Maybe the best all round player in the Bay Area.

Chohan is a great player but Billy has won a TON of tournements in the North Bay and his one pocket game might be better than his nine ball. Working a full time job and still snapping off some nice tourneys shows how much talent Billy has.

Well, Bud, I would say what really shows his talent is the fact that he bested Efren in a match of one-pocket in a past Derby City tournament, and I have the Accu-stats tape which proves it.....

Are you coming to Phoenix for the bar table tournament at Alexander's in 2 weeks? $5k added. It sounds like there will be a lot of people here.

Strangely enough prior to the tournament Tang had been playing a lot of "golf" with the regulars at Hard Times on "Big Bertha" and not too much 9ball. The day after the tournament he was having fun on the 3 cushion table early evening after having played some golf. He seems to be having fun playing again which is great to see.
