 What a great read. I got my copy yesterday and read the entire book unable to put it down. What I found amazing was that Jay's life was so much like my own (same age, both pool room owners, both huge pool gamblers, both had two daughters, both with quite a bit of violence, both with a love for pool players who needed someone in their corners). I strongly recommend you get this great book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Great job, Jay.:)

Thanks Gerry. Didn't I write inside that I thought you would relate to so much of this. I guess I missed you at the Sports Palace in New Orleans. But I came through so long ago, back in the late 70's. Pool Wars could be your story too, just in a different locale.

I got the book last week and loved it. So many great stories! There isn't much you missed Jay. You've seen and done just about everything in the pool world.

Thanks for putting these stories on paper. Thoroughly enjoyable read!!

Thanks, I always tried to be where the action was. I only regret that I missed a few famous rooms and players. I got to most spots and saw most of the top players of the last 40-50 years, but a few got away. :)

I have told everyone I know about Pool Wars. Like everyone else seems to say "You just can't put it down" I found myself in the middle of a story and looking forward to the next one before I finished the one I was on. In case some of you don't know Jay personally but have read his book, he may seem a little seedy because of some of the stories and action etc sometimes. However, Jay is one of the nices guys you will ever meet. Another thing about Jay I would trust him with my last dollar. Again great book Jay and hope to see you again soon, maybe the Gem City.

I resemble that remark. Truth be known, I WAS a little seedy back in the day. I mean, after all, I was trying to make a living as a pool player.

I just received my (personally autographed!) copy today and as others have said- you CANNOT put it down!!!! What a fantastic read indeed- thank you, Jay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbup:

All those wasted years I spent playing pool. I should have been writing instead!
