Jayson Shaw - Fastest Pace Pro Player?

Is there anyone out there now among the top 100 pro players that plays any faster than Jayson Shaw? If so, who, as I haven’t seen them?

Jayson often approaches Luc Salvas / Tony Drago speed, but with far more accuracy, confidence and success. Konrad J, FSR, Filler and SVB play quite fast, but still a few notches below Jayson’s pace, from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, Shaw really keeps it moving. Zielinski is also very fast at the table. I've never seen Shaw play anywhere close to as fast as Drago or Salvas did. Drago and Salvas are the two fastest players of the nine-ball era by a mile.

Yeah, I always wondered if Luc would have been a better player if he had slowed down just a touch and cut down on those unforced shotmaking and positioning errors?

I’m sure that must have been suggested to him many times, but it almost seemed like he relished the notoriety of being the fastest pro pool player in the world.

I felt Drago was just a hair faster than Salvas.

I think Jayson Shaw is the best of the fast players…he isn’t forcing the pace, it’s just his natural rhythm.
Luc has a poor choice of shots sometimes…he overcomes it with heart and talent but pays for it when he plays the top tier players.

Rodney Morris was also a very fast shooter as was Earl.

Melling runs out fast too.

As mentioned earlier though, Drago seems to be the fastest

Was Butera faster than Salvas? I watched Salvas live a few times at the Hopkins Expo years back. Wow was he fast.

Drago was so incredible to watch. Jayson is close, but he can't touch Drago's attitude. The way Drago acted while shooting made him even better. Jayson seems to be in a bad funk, maybe problems with his lady? Whatever it is I hope he turns it around.

Oh and old Ronnie O'Sullivan when he played Mosconi Cup, he was super young. He also shot so so so fast and deadly accurate. He destroyed Earl.

No, but Butera was the fastest player of the straight pool era and is unquestionably the fastest player in the BCA Hall of Fame. Actually, there was a guy named Steve "Stevie Wonder" Dobrowolski, a 200-ball runner but more of an action player than a tournament player, who played straight pool even faster than Lou. By my reckoning, Steve's best pool was played in the early 1980s.

Tony Drago once won a match at the Predator 10-ball (circa 2004 at the Riviera) by a score of 9-6 in 22 minutes. Yes, his opponent (I think it was Fu Jianbo) was also playing very fast, but that's 1 1/2 minutes per rack. Not even Salvas could do that.

haven't seen much of him, but got a glimpse of konrad juszczyszyn the other day and kid was moving..did see him miss one he prob shouldn't have tho

Faster placed players like this is the only thing keeping the sport alive. Not trolling here.

Too bad they are a minority of players. I don't watch much pool anymore because of the slow play. Got better things to do than watch some "pro" stare at a routine shot for 3 minutes that an APA SL4 could execute 95% of the time in seconds.

Jayson ran 51 consecutive racks in 2hr39 minutes
(714 balls)
Also ran a 508 in 2hr8 minutes.

Butera ran 150 and out in 19 minutes against Lassiter, I believe it was in the late 60s. I think this was the fastest recorded time for a 150 ball run, hard to beat!
Butera’s 14.1 speed is legendary, but my focus on this thread which I realize I didn’t state clearly in my initial post is who (if not JS) is currently the fastest world top 50 ranked rotation player?
