Hello,

I saw a video on youtube a while ago showing that the JB Case inserts are compatible with Justice cases. Does anyone know if the 2x4 JB case inserts also fit a Whitten case?

Cheers

i remember they were specially made to fit justice cases. I remember JB selling the last one on here and saying that was it! Things may have changed??? But, that is what I remember! He is/was friends with Mr. Whitten and said he would not make one for the whitten case for various reasons. Again, all second hand info. PM the man or just call. He will respond. No need for the thread!

That's what I remember too.

Too bad those two don't get along better, the JB interior is far superior to what comes in a Justis case (I've owned some) and Jack is a master at building that style of case...there is no good reason they shouldn't be offered together.

Makes me super happy to have my Fields case....best of both worlds right there! If only Chuck was still making them.

i like the insert he made for the Instroke cases. They could be used on the same tubes used by Justis cases. The new design is nice and lighter. But, i am still fond of the single tube design and padding.

Thanks for the info.

PS: I have sent PM's in the past and never had a reply. I am in Australia so maybe that is the reason , I have no idea.

You are not alone in getting things from jb like pm and email responses.

Sad, he didn't respond and your forced to go this route.

Expo is coming up and he will say how swamped he is and it slipped between the cracks.

He did that because he hates Jack and wanted to show he could improve a JJ case since obviously he couldn't do something outside the case he did the inside for those who use thiers as bat or a club or how ever someone could actualy have a cue damaged in a case

JB interior

I still have a JB interior for a justice case. It's the 2x5/3x4. I bought it hoping to find an old Justice case with a lot of wear for a low price. D anyone looking at this thread has a case like that, let me know. Id also sell the interior if somone was interested.

Slide, I know exactly what you mean about a Fields case. I was the last custom order.

Nice! I held off too long and when I was finally ready to order it was too late. Took a year of searching until a found a case of his I liked that was available. Not perfect because I had to give up my jump cue (it's two small pockets) but I'm loving it and am super happy I found someone willing to part with one (thanks Dave!). It's being put to good use! His leather work and case construction is top teir!

That video was probably of my case he was putting it in lol I put it on you tube before he went nuts on my and I had to block him on Facebook. He made amends with Jack and he sold what he had and isn't making them anymore. You are correct they are far better then the interior that came in my justis case. The one thing that always bugged me was the way your cue was banging around inside while I was walking. not that I thought it was damaging it but it was just annoying. Either way they are no longer available.

I admired the flexibility John Barton's inserts for his butterfly cases. You could buy one case (shell) and swap in/out inserts. At the time, it was clearly superior to any butterfly offering out there. At a Super Billiards Expo a couple of years ago, I visited John's booth and found the card inserts dropped right into a Jim Murnak 3x6 butterfly. Even the velcro backing lined up. Case bulged slightly as Jim's interiors are not removable, but allowed me to carry 4 cues instead of 3. I can take out the card insert, and reverts back to carrying 3 cues.

Um, the only one who went nuts is you. You have consistently mischaracterized me on AZB and don't have the stones to have a conversation about why you do that.

I still make the interiors on request I simply don't advertise them. Jack is clear about using one voiding his warranty so anyone using one should keep that in mind when ordering.

I remember there was threads that stated the interiors being too tight and could warp the cues.

Imagine if the case was open or standing....

I'd love to know the science behind that idea lol Like I said I switched my case to it simply because it held my cues tight when I was walking. When the interior was out it was obvious side by side that the jb interior was better. Hell I don't even use the case anymore. It's sitting in a closet collecting dust.

I have a JB interior on my Justice case.

I highly recommend it. JB interiors on the old tube type Justice case is the nuts, IMO.

Your mileage may vary.

I doubt JB cases are compatible with Whitten. Different construction. Hope this answers OP's question.

Correct. The only reason I offered our interior for Jack's cases is because I had one and could make the right size for that tube. While it would be possible to do aftermarket interiors for Whitten cases it's not really practical given how they build their cases.

With a Justis it's a fairly simple swap. With a Whitten the case would have to be deconstructed to switch the interior. Knowing how precisely they build their cases I am not confident that I could put one back together perfectly much less someone with less experience.
