Jb Case Sale Experiment

Hello World,

I have received numerous emails asking me for a lower price on the cases I just listed. I dislike bargaining like this because I feel that it's takes away from the enjoyment of the effort we put into creating this art.

I don't however build solely for the luxury of surrounding myself with fancy leather cases. So I am taking a page from other people's sales book and trying a kind of reverse buy-it-now type of sale.

I have two cases for sale at $1200 each. Starting today I will lower the price by $50 on each one and do that twice a day until they sell.

The rules are easy - the first person who gets me a timestamped PM indicating that they will buy the case gets the case. First PM first choice.

PLEASE indicate which case you want AND if you want the other one should your first choice be gone.

I don't want any confusion or hard feelings about this. As far as I can tell the PMs come in in chronological order so it should be pretty straightforward.

Last rule: Payment. Payment should be made within a few hours of saying you want the item and receiving confirmation. That way the deal can be done with no need to keep the thread going. I accept PayPal at this address paypal at jbideas dot com

Here's a bump. That's about as close as I can come to buying the case. :)

Thanks Jim and Jeff. I figure nothing much will happen until the cases get below $1000. I am gambling but life wouldn't be any fun if I couldn't do things like this once in a while. I just don't have the room to keep them on display and I hate to think about putting them away from view. So it'll be fun to see where it goes.

The idea was sparked by reading a story about Radiohead and them releasing an album on the web with a "pay what you want" method to it.

Also, I am relative newbie to this section of AZ. So if I am being obnoxious or violating some unwritten rule then feel free to correct me and I will abide by the way it's handled here. Goodnight or good day depending on where you are.

i am new to az but i like the excitement you are creating, the cases are nice looking regardless of the sle price on these two you are getting your product seen

I noticed most of your current cases are 2x4. Are you doing anything in these styles in 3x5 or 3x7.

John, I thought that what Radiohead did on that was a grand gesture. I also think what you are doing is the same. Good man. You like Radiohead?

Thanks!

Thanks guys we are almost there :-)

I haven't yet because all of these tooled cases have been more for me to stretch out our toolers and teach them what I want. So for size I pretty uch went down the middle with the 2x4's. I have thought about doing some 3 cue cases soon though. Actually, I am probably going to do a couple with the same lightweight interior design that I did on the Rolls Royce case but in a 3x5 or 3x6 configuration.

Of course I can make any that you like in a similar style in any size you like. At this level I don't charge more for a 3x7 than for a 2x4. The small amount of leather and tubes doesn't make enough of a difference to worry about.

I think the first 3x6 tooled case that I will get done though will be the long overdue one that was won by AZ'er TwoForPool in my free case raffle way back when. It's getting there Bob!

Lastly, we did do 2 cases in the zip around Butterfly style that each hold 4x12 or 8x24 with two boards in them. They feature detachable padded boards which hold the cues to them with elastic bands. Each case can hold two boards for up to 8x24 capacity. And I did one smaller one that can hold 4x12. Pix on those soon - took them yesterday but haven't had time to edit them.

I would definitely be interested in something like the GUNSLINGER or BASKETCASE in a 3x6 configuration using the lightweight design. This would be a treat for my fiftieth. What kind of turnaround time would I be looking at for something like that?

Either of those could be done in less than four weeks.

Email me at jb@jbideas.com to work out the details.
