Mr. Williams, I should not dignify your post with a response, because you are obviously too illiterate, and too ignorant to realize, that your last sentence, was typical of the reason most of these threads get closed... Let me try and put this, in a way you might comprehend, because your ignorance is at a level I'm not used to dealing with !

If you or I, ever find ourselves in the same place, I will make you eat those words...If I can't do it, you can bet your non-playing ass, I will have it done !...(attn. Mod's, this is NOT a threat, it is a promise)..The picture I posted of me grabbing a tit (on a male dominated pool forum) was ONLY offensive to you. (and a few other "A.S.S. minions")..In no way does it call for you to infer that it was my daughter !...It was a good friend and I, just clowning around, and it is pretty obvious SHE was not in the least offended.

I will not stoop to questioning YOUR sexual orientation, in finding it offensive.. But it does make me (and many others) wonder if you are really "Mr. Macho Man" ????..I think John and I, enjoy the give and take we have here..It is only trolls like you, who try to escalate it beyond what it really is !

But, that's to be expected of someone with your very limited capacity for expressing yourself !... I actually feel a little guilty, calling you one of John's 'minions'..I don't think he even wants someone like you on his team.. Would be a great undercard if SJD is down bc I'm pretty sure Gerry's game is up to it.

I know neither of these ppl but keyboards to cue sticks seems to be today's version of an after school fight. Just hope we can all be freinds afterwards.

I will be at the expo and am making plans to watch JB vs Lou.

I know I'm bordering instigation but I just can't help it bc I want to see the reaction lol:thumbup:

I find this post pretty hilarious. I mean, let's look at it:

1. Of all the posters for SJD to take offense to, he takes offense to one of the most helpful and kinder people on these boards, who's standing up to someone he feels is a bully chasing Barton around in every thread.

2. Nothing Gerry ever said was even remotely as demeaning as the steady stream of defecation that leaves SJD's keyboard. The "groping daughter" comment was something that was said several times before by others before Gerry even mentioned it in passing, as really a means of closing his point.

3. Really? A physical threat?

I thought Gerry's post was spot-on in calling out SJD's agenda. Again, the response he got was pretty funny if you ask me.

What line? This place is not like any pool hall I know, to put it mildly...

Rule number one: if you give it out, you must be able to take it back. Dick should have known better. Ridiculous to ban him for it though, obviously. There is something fundamentally wrong when banter is bannable. If the owners don't want it on the main forum then fine, but I for one will not go to any pool hall that is not fun to be in.

Find a place for this. We have a situation where spamming is fine but banter is not. WTF? :confused:

You mention Lou more often than I mention you, to put it mildly. My Youtube page contains no John Barton at all.

You'll not see me 'following you around looking for things to put you down with' when it comes to making cue cases, for it is a subject I know nothing about. When someone writes as prolifically about pool as you do, that's a different matter, and I'll comment where I believe you to be mistaken. IMO you are mistaken a lot, hence the replies.

You've never demonstrated to me you're sufficiently skilled to be above reproach. Perhaps your grudge match will leave me eating humble pie. Who knows?

Dick, sorry you got banned. I know you see it all as pool room barking. But you have to understand that the way we go at it in the pool room isn't with paragraphs and demeaning images. People here come from many different spots in life and they read the words with different perspectives. You can't go off on everyone and expect no pushback. You can't insult everyone who agrees with me and expect no pushback. And you can't constantly insult and downgrade a method of playing that many have invested a lot of their time into without getting flak over it.

You basically have incessantly put down every player on earth who is interested in and tries CTE and other aiming methods. You did this through your constant attacks on me. People get tired of it. It's also the same thing Lou did that has led to this match.

At some point maybe it would be nice to simply take a step back and look at the REAL people involved here. These are people who LOVE pool. They are fascinated by it, impressed by great players and seek whatever they can to help themselves improve.

They are the people who keep pool alive. The bangers who aspire to be the best they can while ALSO holding down jobs and giving time to their families. For you to constantly put these people down wears thin. And when some of them report that they have in fact improved their game noticeably and you degrade that it's hurtful. You can't constantly stab someone with needles and expect them not to get upset by it.

I hope Jerry reconsiders and allows you to come back in time to enjoy the threads that the match will probably create. And when you do come back I hope you understand what I am saying and will give it a rest about aiming systems.

You can be critical of my stroke. It needs work. I know that and everyone knows that. But that doesn't mean I am wrong about the aiming.

I don't know that you know anything about playing any cue sport. You are an anonymous person who likes to say aiming is not important. Comparing you and me is silly because you are almost non-existent as a player. I actually meet dozzens of people each week who have seen my videos. Many of them have questions and we go to the table and work on their questions and they are happy.

The difference between you and me is that I am helping people play better pool and you are not. There is a lot of instruction out there already on form. TONS of it. No one here has said form is not important. On the contrary ALL the people here who like CTE and other aiming methods have said 1000s of times that form is critically important and that proper aiming leads to improved form.

So your goal SEEMS to be that you want to PREVENT anyone from considering or trying CTE or any aiming method. You seem to want to tell everyone that aiming sorts itself out as long as you have proper (in your view) mechanics. And to you the snooker style is the only style that is proper. I disagree with that. And furthermore in pool British cueists have a long way to go to equal the records of American champions. It's highly doubtful that any cueist will ever break Earl Strickand's records regardless of where they are from.

Anyway the fact is again that aiming IS taught to British cueists along with form. The order of importance doesn't matter. The task is aim then shoot. If we want to focus on our aiming more intensely than people on the other side of the planet then so what? That's our choice and you shouldn't be here mucking it up.

You don't see us spamming and trolling snooker and english pool forums blasting them over topics we don't agree with. We are on a pool forum talking about pool and relating our own experiences. Not just theoretical but real world on the table practical experiences. We put ourselves on video showing what we know and what we can do (and can't do) and invite discussion over it. The only reason you know my stroke isn't perfect is because I showed it to you. You act like you are telling me something I don't know already. You deflect from the topic by picking on something obvious.

Then when I show you videos of people who do have good fundamentals who have the same results as me you dismiss them. So really if your agenda is not to troll then what it is it?

My agenda is simple: help people play better pool. Where misinformation is being put around, I'll challenge it. But people listen to who they want to listen to, follow who they want to follow. It is really up to them. It seems to me the squeaky wheel gets the grease around here...

Do you think CTE or whatever is the saviour of pool in America? Relatively speaking, will they do more good for the health of your nation's game than teaching your young players to adopt snooker fundamentals, for instance?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

Yes. I think CTE would be way more helpful to aspiring players than snooker fundamentals if they could learn only one of those two.

BECAUSE it's already been proven that snooker fundamentals are not necessary to play top level pool. Maybe snooker fundamentals are better but they are not critical to success in pool. Aiming however is needed for pool regardless of form so if there is a method that works better, which CTE/ProOne does, then that IS critical to success.
 
Being accused of "...groping your daughter" is seriously offensive, particularly to a man of SJD's generation.

I doubt he was aware of this forum's abhorrence of physical threats or, most certainly, he would not have made one.

A warning would have sufficed.
