JSP,
Easily. My reasoning was based on that survey that showed some fair number of Americans recognized JL (???40%??? - I don't remember exactly), the next best pool player was under 1% (that percentage I remember).
Therefore, if 1% of the 100,000 pool fanatics like us (who are aware that she exists) are afraid to match up evenly with Allison Fisher; then 1,000 of us fear her. If 1% of the 100 million people who recognize JL (was it 40% of americans polled who recognized her in that survey????) are afraid to lay money on the line to gamble with JL, then 1 million people fear her. As I said, its all just semantics. I'm talking numbers of people fearing, you are talking about intensity of fear - in my view both of us are correct.
P.S. - On a "good back day" for JL she is very capable of top flight 9-ball, perhaps you have seen the two matches in the past 2 years where she beats Allison 7-0. In one of them Allison comes to the table only 3 times, scratches 3 times, and does not pocket a single ball - definitely one of my favorite matches ever (though Allison is also one of my many favorite players).
