Jeff Carter vs Bobby Hunter, who wins?

I may have the wrong guy, but I know this Jeff Carter was a one pocket monster at one time. Finished 2nd to Efren in a big 1p tourney back around 88.

Big dude, square glasses, walrus mustache.

That doesn't sound like Jeff Carter

Hi Monte,

In their prime, I like Bobby in straight pool, but maybe Jeff in 9-ball. I believe he had the better break. Both great players.

Dave

my thoughts exactly. I like Jeff's 9 ball break a bit more and I think that while Bobby could win a set possibly a session here and there Jeff was still the favorite, but IMO it was a close game, real close.

And I like bobby's 14.1 game a bit more, Same thing here Jeff could beat Bobby playing 14.1 but I make Bobby the favorite over the long term.

Guess we need to have them play some one hole for a tie breaker;)

Both great players, who I have respected for many many years.

To add to the eight ball title, Medina beat Efren in an eight ball finals in Vegas, and he, to me was more dangerous than both Jeff/Bobby in his prime.

I agree Danny in his prime was a full speed above Bobby/Jeff, Danny was a monster, on the barbox and big box, man could he play. amazing natural talent that very few people could over come, he(Danny) could beat anyone at anytime in his peak-if he caught a gear. I cant say that about Bobby or Jeff, with all due respect. They might could beat anyone at any time but not near as often as Danny could.

DP40,

Big dude= Dave Bolman. Clean shaven. No glasses back in the day. But he's more a 9 ball specialist. Can't be him.

Square glasses= Bob Vanover. Clean shaven. But he's a 9 ball specialist. No way it was Mr. Vanover.

Walrus mustache.....???????????????????????? Can't ever recall a mustache even near a walrus style this side of Alfredo DeOro circa early 1900's.

Jack Cooney is a candidate by your description, however, he shunned most tournaments in lieu of money matches. He only played in a handful of tournaments that I'm aware of.

Also, Efren was not winning 1P matches in the late 1980's. At least none that I'm aware of. Could you have meant Parica?

I have no clue who you're thinking of.

***Calling Jay Helfert*** Any idea who he could be speaking of?

You're right, I stand corrected. The player I am talking about IS a long time Florida resident named JEFF ADAMS. Used to be a really solid 9-ball player, and from what I hear a 1P monster.

Oops... :grinning-moose:
