In her latest press conference held on 19th Nov in Japan, she also explained why she was away from Taiwan, what caused her to disappear, and her plan for her future.

I just read this story in Inside Pool. I wonder where they got all this information about Mr. Yu, Mr. Wu and Mr. Yo. From Jennifer? Did they even try to verify anything? That is some of the worst journalism I have ever seen, somewhere below the Enquirer and closer to Globe.

After reading this, I begin to believe Jennifer is seeking only to cover her a--. It reads like one long fairy tale. Totally unbelievable, and someone at Inside Pool is buying it. Shame on them. And this on top of the weak and self serving Deno Andrews article.

This magazine has much bigger problems than poor delivery. It's called lousy and biased reporting.

There is no Mr. Yo, Mr. Yo is a typo, it should have been Mr. Yu.

Mr Yu was a City Councilor for Jhonghe City, his full name is Yu Hsiang-hsien

The infomation have been provided by Jennifer.

They were translated into English after her press conference. The conference was held in the presence of her attorney, agent, and Mr, Tu.

Insidepool obtained such info from Jennifer Chen directly. The info also are consistent with the reports in Chinese found in major Chinese newspapers, some of which I quoted in my previous posts.

I cannot speculate the motive of Jennifer's statements.

About whether they are true or not, Jennifer also had provided proof to back up her claim(tapped phone conversation, phone text message...etc.). According to her lawyer, who was a DA working in Taiwan, her statement has been verified.

I was present in her press conference. I cannot tell you exactly what happened to Jennifer other than what she told me and told the press in the press conference. I personally do not think it is a fairy tale, although I know how it may sound like one.

Jennifer looked very stressed and she had obviously been through a hard time. She said from now on, she wanted to get back on her feet and focus all her energy on playing pool.

She is also very thankful for all the supports everyone has been offering her.

Jennifer is a very talented player, I am sure we would all like to see her win tournaments in the US again.

So she's a victim in all of this? She signed up for easy cash with "inside information" on games (ethics?) and it didn't pan out for her and now she's some sort of victim?

I know this girl is a friend to some people on the board here, but geeeze.. Seems like she took a pretty unethical path, with some pretty unethical people, and she got burned by those same (I'll say it again) unethical people.. Surprise surprise. I

guess I'm not seeing how she's a victim? Just a person that lacks ethics, and apparently brains as well. I.E. If someone is getting the inside track on bets.. After the 1st one or two don't pan out, one might stop listening to the the source after that wouldn't ya think?

The story I just read makes it sound entirely worse then if she just had a bad gambling problem and went in over her head, atleast in my point of view.

During the press conference, Jennifer had, in more than one occassion, apologized for her behavior.

She apologized for getting involved with Mr. Yu and betting on games illegally. She said that she was tempted becasue she saw first hand how Mr. Yu could tell her the result of the games while they were still in progess. According to Jennifer, Mr. Yu did not only predict which team could win, he also knew the exact score.

Jennifer mentioned that she really regret what she did. She wanted to move forward and focus on her pool career from now on.

I cannot comment on whether she felt that she was a victim or not. I do not believe she used the word "victim" in her statement.

Anyway, I posted this info not trying to defend anyone or anything; I feel that her side of the story has to be heard. I want to share that with the members here.

Thank you DJ. There is an old saying, "You can't cheat an honest man." And it applies here. Greedy people are the ones who get suckered by con men.

I also don't believe Jennifer is such an "innocent" victim. I do know her to bet high at pool, so she has a lot of gamble in her. Which is not uncommon coming from her neck of the woods.

The story I heard from some players at the WPC (they are from Taiwan by the way), is that she got in over her head to some big time bookies and refused, or wasn't able to pay. They wanted her house, and she fled to avoid the consequences.

This story she told may or may not have some credibility. I suspect there is another side to this story that will not be told publicly. One thing is obvious, Jennifer has a major gambling addiction, and needs to get herself straightened out. She's not the first and won't be the last to get hooked on gambling.

Vegas and all the 400 plus casinos in America thrive on the addicted gamblers. The ones who blow their paycheck week after week in the slots.
I always tell them, "You really think you can beat a machine? Good luck! You'll need it."

Thanks Allen. In Journalism 101, you learn to ask questions, not just repeat what someone says to you. "Who, what, where, when and how" are the first things on the mind of any good reporter. They actually probe for the real story, not just parrot what someone tells them.

Curious to see what they will have to say in the next issue of Inside Pool (whenever that appears) about the IPT. JR and Sally were pretty tight with KT and Deno all along on this little fiasco.

Wouldn't surprise me if she is now the sucker for the Taiwan feds in their pursuit of self advantageous justice, using her as the story maker in a case against some political opponents whose hands are in some dirty pies.
