Jeremy Jones in Action in Paducah!

KY Bankers

Vernon Elliott was a pretty fair bank pool player from Kentucky. Most likely the best pool player Kentucky ever produced.

Hmmm, I'm thinking there may have been a better one. Hall of Famer, short guy, curly hair. You might know his name, Nick uh.........last name is something like Vernor's or Vanguard? LOL ;)

Yes, I know Nick and another guy from Kentucky named Buddy too. Both are fabulous players and great ambassadors for pool. But as great as they have been both line up behind Vernon except in name recognition. Don't think there are any better people in pool though; at least that I know.

There is a great banker here in Paducah that is pretty unknown.

Let me know and I will get the beer cold and steaks on the grill......

You need to come and play banks here.

Ken

I have a plan formulating in my head. Fly to Dayton, rent a car and visit all my buddies in the Midwest. Maybe a two week road trip - BUT WHEN? Late Summer is a possibility.

My wife has relatives in Paducah and I have visited there many times but never played pool there. Paducah is a stopover each year on our trip out west. Have to find a poolroom there this year when we are passing thru.

Yeah he could hitem pretty good .That Westbrooks caracter hitsem pretty good there in Tucson (By way of the Chicago area)

Slow cloth didn't affect these guys, because everything was going in the pocket at warp speed.
Jay, I'm wondering if that's why the earlier players shot most banks with firm to hard speed: that so often the equipment was not only slow, but had bad rolls? I realize most of the guys shot the angles wide, with hard speed to shorten the angle; but I've often wondered how that got started.

I've noticed that some of the top bank pool players today, such as Brumback, will shoot many shots with medium to slow speed. However the equipment is so much better today.
