Jesse Bowman vs John Morra !!!! AGAIN !!!

Well folks they never got to the bartable they actually played 200 a game 1 pocket and jesse wound up loosing 1300 to him giving morra 9-7...JB Cases just because jesse did something to you unreal sometime ago does not mean anything the guy DOES NOT play pool anymore he is a poker player...my next question is Jesse lives in Moline Illinois, Mosconiac lives in bettendorf iowa (across the river) and I live in davenport iowa, not to sound rude or anything but just out of curiousity who do think knows more about Jesse's pool game you, or people who see him almost daily?

How did he loose 13 hundred playin 2 hundred a game one pocket...?

Well of course you who see him all the time have a better handle on his speed. I still think "has been" is way out of line. WAY out of line. If he is such a has been then why did Morra need weight in one-hole? I played Jesse $600 a game in one hole before. How much have you or Mosconiac bet your own against him? And that's not the match I was referring to where he demolished me with a ton of weight.

Don't act like I don't who Jesse Bowman is. You might live right there where he does but you have no clue what my experiences with him and the crew he ran with is.

I still feel he is a world beater - and the fact that Morra won't step to the plate for 15 large and asks for weight in one hole proves it for me.

The "has been" line was a joke...it referenced the fact that the "bets" here on AZB were piling up on Morra. I was (sarcastically) implying people were acting like he was a "has been" at the ripe old age of 26. Sarcasm is tough to pour into words.

To be clear, I have the utmost in respect for Jess & his ethereal natural talent. He has more gamble that any 10 AZB'ers and has the steely nerve to pick up a cue & take on a kid that plays non-stop everyday after a 2-3 month layoff...and is willing to out-bet him too!

Since the big action hasn't gone off yet, here's a little story of Jess' nerve you all will enjoy. It involves Jimmy Wetch, a player that I also respect greatly. JW is a major asset to the Twin Cities area.

A few years back, maybe 6 years ago, a roughly 20yo Jesse was playing in a tournament filled with local talent. To everyone's surprise, a dapper Jimmy Wetch waltzed in the door to play in the same tourney. Jesse's eyes lit up...action is in town!

Jesse made his way over and offered to play JW even on the barbox...for $5k. In a true case of believing in the talent of your kid, Jesse's DAD yelled out to JW, "Make it $10k!"

How hardcore is that? Alas, JW declined to tangle with Jess on a barbox and won the tourney.

Gotcha. Apparently my read between the lines skills evaporated for a moment! Sorry about that.

When I played Jesse last time we were playing 1-hole for 600 a game and he was giving me like 9-6/10-6 and I had him stuck 3000 - he paid off the last game in tens and twenties. We took a half hour break and I thought the game would be over soon because they would be out of money. They make a phone call at 5am and a guy shows up with $10,000. I completely lost it at that point and couldn't drop a ball in the ocean and Jesse got back to even and I had to quit. It also didn't help that I agreed to give up a ball of the spot.

But I mean how strong is that for a backer to show up at 5am to reload his player who is stuck 3 large already???? And in fact if I remember right the backer didn't show up he just sent the money.

I am still pissed off that I didn't take down that score but to my defense I started playing him at 2am after working my booth for 18 hours prior to that.

So I feel ya on Jesse's talent and GAMBLE.

Congrats to John Morra for some great shooting !
In my opinion Jesse out moved John in one pocket and eight ball
but Johns pocketing ability's are just awesome . The kid just don't miss
to often and his banks were right on the money .

I can't say enough about the heart of Jesse Bowman he has more gamble than any one I have ever known . He really had not been playing any pool for the last few months and didn't bring his best game but just to get in there with John when John is playing at the top of his game I think says a lot .

I admire and am very proud of both these great young players !

Larry

If this goes down.......anybody interested in a lil sweat bet? I will take John for $20. I don't have paypal :o, good ol' fashioned cash or personal check. When and if this happens, just PM me and we can exchange info.

Hope something between these two goes on tonight. It would be a good thing to watch since nothing else going on
