jessi bowman vs svb.

When asked if he would play Shane on a bar box.... Dennis Orcullo said he wanted no part of Def Jam on the 7 footer... Said he's too tough...

Although, they played some on the barbox, before. I think Shane cama out on top.

well, bring them all to mobile on the 6th and 7th and find out!!! their will be dozens of champion's there. always a fun touraumant , no rest for the wicked!!!!

I would agrreee SVB was not cheated. Misled, yup! Outmoved on the match up, yup!

The 10'er- Gaff, I say! Why was Earl playing with a 96" cue for a month before? Coz he knew he could reach shots where the ball was in the middle of the table with it.

I know SVB likes to think he can play, but take away enough of the middle of the table as an option for his CB and I might give him a little weight. I might give him a little weight, I said.

Well, to be precise, Earl used a 64" cue.. bascially just added an extention to his cue and taped it on. Earl was very infrequently in the middle of the table, and thus not sure the long cue had a as much affect on the game as some folks like to believe it did. He was spinning the cue 3 and 4 rails at will and getting his position to boot. He was shooting longs shots like he was on a bar box for heavens sake.

Earl won the barbox championship last year to boot !! A barbox, home 8', nine footer or even 10 foot'er don't seem to stop him much. You roll some grapefruits out on your dining room table, and I'm thinking Earl is still gonna spot most a few games !

Very true. Earl shot spectacular on that table. I was amazed by his position play

Earl makes balls great. But his 10 ball break on a big table is definitely behind the elite 10 ball players right now. He can play 9 with anybody but he is very weak on a 10 ball break. And when you hit that speed, the break is everything. Its the only thing that separates those guys. Because they can all get out when given the chance.

hmmm

And the funny thing is Earl did not start playing with his 64" cue for the SVB match, he started at least a year earlier, and already won some tourneys with it. So, there was no "strategy" that he needed a big stick for the 10 footer, he was already shooting and winning with it on the smaller tables. He mentioned he did it by lark, and it felt so good shooting with it, that he stayed with it......

Who is? JA? :boring2: I don't think anyone on the planet can really feel like they have any kind of edge on Shane right now. He is playing with a certain pace and level of confidence that makes him a favorite against anyone in the world. Busta, Alex, Alcano or Orcollo are the only ones I could see having a shot in a long race. *shrug*

Why do people always forget about Taiwan.

Yang, Chang, Ko, Wu, there are places other then the Philipines.

Yang yes, but he just got back into the game from what I understand? Chang, haven't heard of him gambling before, same with Ko. Wu of course I feel is the strongest out of them all. They are all top notch ELITE players. I didn't forget about them. The only point I was trying to make was right now, today, there is not a single person that I believe has an edge on Shane, not one.

i have two very small things to add to this.

shane can flat out beat the pants off earl anyday of the week. shane got stuck in a bad game. that's it. no more, no less. put them on the diamond 10' and watch the ass weight's fly!

second, any one who thinks shane isn't the strongest long race player right now, i got 10k, how many games are you willing to give up???

I predict crickets, on this last one.

Don't forget that the Earl show had an effect on SVB's play. Throwing chalk, hostility directed at the crowd, slamming his cues, constant pi$$ing & moaning, shattering ear muffs,...,etc. Hearing aid "off" or not, it's tough to fade Earl's antics...and SVB couldn't. SVB showed some class by not complaining...he just shook Earl's hand & congratulated him.

I know Chip and Joey's games very well. I have played them both quite a few times and have watched many match-ups. If Shane's backer asked me if I wanted to stake either of them on a bar table, my money stays in my pocket. Same with Bowman. Can they win? Of course. But betting against SVB in ANY game on ANY table is not a very wise investment.

Did you really just say that on this post? If your going to say something like that, lets not forget that SVB won not one but TWO of the barbox events and was either 2nd or 3rd in the one Earl won.....just sayin'

Yes, I said it, but not one ounce of disrespect to SVB, not a negative comment, nada. I don't have to disrespct other players just to make my favorite look better. Heck, I like SVB !! He got game !! Though, in my defense my post is completely true and accurate. OK, i'm only joking on the grapefruit bit part.

70

I'm pretty sure Earl played with a 70 inch cue, not 64 inch, and it was simply a 12 inch extension Gulyassy made for him. In 3 days Earl never had to use the bridge, whereas Shane lost the first game because he had to use the bridge. Of couse, Earl's not having to use the bridge was due to his position play as well as his javelin.

Thats fine, but you said

Busta, Alex, Alcano or Orcollo are the only ones I could see having a shot in a long race.

which pretty clearly has you saying that there are only 4 players in the world that would have a chance to beat SVB, and Wu, Yang, and anyone else outside of those 4 players does not have a shot at winning, according to your post...

So if he's not the strongest you want games on the wire? Can't remember a long gambling race where there were games given.

Mighty big of you to offer up your 10k having one of the best ever getting
Games on the wire.

I'll take the other side, since Shane can flat out beat the pants off Earl any day of the week, stake Shane and offer up 10 to 29 games. I mean in terms of being relative flat out beating the pants off someone is pretty high up there. Much higher than say "it's close".

Put your money in action.
