Three cases were shipped on Monday

The two winners of free ones and a case that was bought before the drawing.

Thanks,
Jim

Here is a review from a few days ago

Not a minute sooner than I posted the previous message, the UPS guy came.

The pictures don't give you the feel for the amount of detail the stitching has.
The hardware and zippers are first rate and all work very smoothly.
Very sturdy brass rivets for the handles and zipper fobs.

It has a very nice sense of balance. With one finger, it balances perfectly on a horizontal plane and feels very comfortable when held by the top handle.

Double shoulder straps with nice pads and the same attention to detail mentioned in the other areas.

Storage is very interesting, there are 6 zippered compartments and they seem to overlap each other, making the volume much greater than the picture would make you think.

It has a very nice finish in Black and contrasts the brass hardware beautifully. Topped off with my initials carved in his "vintage" font and signed by Jim Murnak.

I will be sure to let everyone know more once I've had a chance to use it some.

My very first impressions are that this case and Jim Murnak will be around and well respected as a first class act for a very long time!

Thanks again!!

Dave

Jim,

Thanks :)

I haven't taken any detailed pics yet, but if you follow the link to Jim's site that is in my sig, there are some pretty good pics there.

So far, I am very pleased with the case.

I haven't had enough time using it to offer more of an opinion, if you are looking for a down side to the case. ( which I hope never to have any bad news to report ) :)

I am not a free case winner but the one I ordered arrived today. (Sorry no pics yet) It is dark brown. No need to worry about your case in shipping- I have never seen better packaging. The case was in an oversized box, wrapped twice in foam with foam pieces between it and the box. On first inspection the leather is very nice (thick) and has a sturdy feel. As a reference I have six other cases-- Jack Justice, Longoni, Halliburton, 2 Whittens and a Giuseppe. The componets-zippers, latch and pocket lining- are top notch. The leather zipper tabs are a nice touch. My first impression on the lid was so-so because it does not stay open on its own. Since the lid is attached with a wide piece of leather it does not move away from the case but that will not be a problem after the leather on the lid breaks in. The lid latch is solid and I like it more than I expected. No other case I have compares to the this case for storage. The documents pocket and jump cue pocket are ingenious. The angled zippers allow very easy access to the pockets and pocket sizes are great. The stitching and finish work is perfect. I personally may never need the second shoulder strap but if my wife ever lets me buy a motorcycle it will come in handy. I have nothing but praise for the case and am glad I have one--also have a black one on order. I do offer one caution in reference to cue length. If your cue is longer than 29 3/4" or if you have fancy longer than normal joint protectors the standard length case may not be what you need. My longest cue measures @ 29 3/4" joint pin to butt and it is a tight fit--but it does fit. If you need a case I highly recommend you give Jim a call.

dksd39 thanks for the Case report. Reguarding the motorcycle, I hope your wife is strong, and never lets you get one. I rode em 40 years +, went down only Twice. Last time it was an Drive who ran me over for ZERO REASON, and kept going. Today people seem to careless if they Kill you or not if you are on a motorcycle.

This is interesting because I also placed an order with Jim a couple of weeks ago and I told him that I have a shaft that is 30" long and I wanted to know if that would be a problem. He told me that my 30" shaft is not a problem with his case so that is why I ordered from him.

I will be calling him and will let you know if there is a problem with a longer than standard shaft.

I would think if Jim stated a 30" shaft will work then I am sure it will. My longest in just shy of 30" and the way the lid is--with the pad that pushes down to seal the tubes it is difficult to say exactly how much more room my cue has but the fit is snug. My joint pin leaves a nice indentation in the lid pad but there could very well be another 1/4" of space. As meticulous as Jim is I have no doubt he is correct.

As far as longer cues

As long as I know how long your cue is I can make up the size in making alterations in the tubes and the cushioning at the bottom. If there is alot of difference like one guy said his butt is 4" longer than the average, I would have to build up the case above the tubes. But for your stick it is no problem. I will check tomorrow and post the exact size that comes to the exact top of the tube with the cushioning I use in general so you can decide if you need to have me change it. Also, pressure into the leather in the top will not hurt the case and will keep the stick more stable. The leather pad in the cap can also be replaced if something happens to it.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the info again Jim. I guess there is no reason to call you since you have already answered my question here.

I guess I got just a little nervous when it was stated that there might be a problem with a shaft longer than 29 3/4". I'm glad you answered this so I can once again anxiously await the arrival of my cue case! :D

To be more exact, My Predator is exactly 30 and 1/8th long from bumper to the end of the screw and with my standard cushioning it comes 1/4" below the top of the tube. If you need any change in that please just inform me. There is also at least 1/2" in the cap without making any problems.

Thanks,
Jim

Whew, I was about to get worried. I just measured my cues w/ jp's on the, and the butt is just shy of 31", the shaft around 30.5"

I also have about 7/8" in the cushioning that I can take from for the butt. And if I need more I have some more length in the actual tube to use. I may just ask everyone their exact lengths so there are no surprises. So if you have a case on order and you are concerned, just email me the exact length of your butt and shafts and I will adjust if I have to.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim I have posted a photo of your 2100 Style Case below so all know what I am talking about, I got a few Questions.

1. Is this case available in 3 x 6 Configuration

2. Do you cases unitized Lined PVC Tubes for holding Shafts & Butts

3. What is the Dimensions of that Large Pocked with Four Compartment that is on the Front of the Case. Depth, Wide, and how Long in Leant

4. Are the Three Compartment Separated, or is there just THREE ACCESS POINTS (Zippers) to one Large Compartment?

1. Is this case available in 3 x 6 Configuration YES

3. What is the Dimensions of that Large Pocked with Four Compartment that is on the Front of the Case. 1 1/2" Deep, 4 1/2"Wide, 24 1/2" high

4. Are the Three Compartment Separated, or is there just THREE ACCESS POINTS (Zippers) to one Large Compartment?
The four zipper compartments on the front are seperate pockets which overlap slightly inside so there is much more room than the outside depicts. The top pocket is shallow for chalk, etc. The top diagonal pocket is about 6" deep, and the lower diagonal pockets fall about 3" below the bottom of the zipper. There is a jump stick pocket on the left side and a document pocket on the right side. This pocket is as high as the jump stick pocket and it goes behind all of the other pockets from one side to the other.

Thanks,
Jim

I must apoligize. When I posted my review last night I measured my cue and posted the wrong length. I am already loosing my mind. My cue is not 29 3/4" --it is 30 3/4"-- and that would explain why my cue fits snug. Once again it was my mistake--hope this helps.

Jim ...

Jim ... I have some additional questions:

1) What is the top cap lined with on inside, is it leather
or foam? Have another case with foam on inside that
broke down and tore and is coming out.

2) What are the pockets lined with on inside?
How heavy is the material?

3) Have any 'pros' bought one of your Vintage line?

I would also like to see a picture of the inside if possible.

Thanks

The inside of the lid seems to be well cushioned. It has a fine black vynyl or leather I can't tell. The inside of the pockets is a very heavy cordura. I'm sorry I am just now getting to you all on this. I was out of state when mine arrived on wednesday. My wife opened it and told me she thought it was "very pretty". I was anxious to see it, I did not expect it to come so quickly. Jim puts the straps on in a way I have never seen before. There are no loose ends like on my Instroke strap, I like that feature a lot. I have a jump handle that fit into the side zipper pocket with plenty of room. I got the Blackcherry color with my initials in Old English script. The initials look very nice. It is a good bit lighter than my Instroke, but my Instroke is one of the very old European ones, which were heavier than todays Instrokes. The case definately is very nice. The tubes are as long as the case, they come all the way to the top. The handles are very sturdy. I am very happy with the entire package. Jim did a great job, fast and over-the-top packaging.
